UFC 270 Betting Guide With Odds, Picks, and Predictions for All Fights

If you’re placing bets on UFC 270 from Anaheim this Saturday, January 22, this preview will come in handy.

Naturally, all minds will be focused on predictions for Francis Ngannou vs. Ciryl Gane. It’s a tough one to call, with many pundits unable to separate the hard-hitting “Predator” from the slick and highly technical Gane. 

These two best heavyweights collide in a unification title fight that is about as big as things get in MMA. Ngannou has been knocking out elite fighters for fun on his way to the top, while Gane remains unbeaten — and pretty much untouched — in his flawless career in the sport. 

If you’re wagering on the fights this weekend, you can find my UFC 270 picks for Ngannou vs. Gane, below. I’ll be providing a breakdown of the fight as well as predictions for Brandon Moreno vs. Deivison Figueiredo and the rest of the card. 

UFC 270 betting odds only tell part of the story, especially where this weekend’s main event clash between Ngannou and Gane is concerned, but let’s take a look at the prices for all fights — courtesy of the Bovada sportsbook —  before we go any further.

When it comes to the main car, there are five fights to bet on at UFC 270 this Saturday.

Here are the odds for Ngannou vs. Gane and as well as the best supporting fights on the night.

Despite being just ten fights into his career, Gane’s odds to beat Ngannou — a man that has beaten close to every top heavyweight in his era — are as short as -150. That shows you the faith that bettors have in “Bon Gamin” becoming the first French champion in the promotion’s history. 

The other major eyecatcher here is Topuria at a hefty -750 to beat Charles Jourdain. The moneyline odds for UFC 270 aren’t where things end. You can potentially get a better price for the exceptional Topuria — who I named among the top UFC breakout stars of 2022 — by exploring the props markets.

More on that later. Now, it’s time for my UFC 270 predictions for Ngannou vs. Gane.

Just one week out from this title fight, and odds for Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury were doing the rounds. 

For the champion, currently locked in a contract standoff with the UFC, this could have been interpreted as yet another distraction.

On the flip side, could the Cameroonian — well versed both in the art of war and the pre-fight pressures that come with it — be using deflective psychological tactics to cool the heat on his shoulders?

Although most betting on Ngannou vs. Gane will be focused entirely on what happens inside the cage, half the battle is won before a single punch is thrown. And while the outside factors could throw Ngannou off his game, I think he’s experienced enough at this point not to allow that to happen.

When the fight was announced, the pressure was all on Ngannou. But with Gane now installed as the favorite, that’s not exactly the case.

Ngannou vs. Gane predictions, regardless of what side the pundit is on, will likely come down to one of two things. Ngannou by KO/TKO or Gane by decision.

The strategy of the champ will almost certainly be to play to his strengths and hunt the stoppage. Gane’s best chance of beating Ngannou is to circle out of the range of his right hand and outpoint him.

At the price above, all the value is with Ngannou. But if he is to win this fight, as I think he will, it will more than likely be by stoppage. So, keep that in mind. I’m going with Ngannou here on account of his proven credentials against the best in the business.

Remember, all he needs is to be lucky once; Gane needs to be lucky all the time. If the champ lands flush, it’s going to be game over. Gane has a scheduled 25 minutes to avoid being caught, and although he has the talent to school him, I don’t see it happening on Saturday. 

With all that in mind, my betting pick for Ngannou vs. Gane is The Predator by KO/TKO in Round 3. Read this comprehensive betting preview of the fight if you need more information before placing your UFC 270 bets on the main event. 

Deiveson Figueiredo was on an absolute tear in 2020 before a draw with Brandon Moreno in December of that year ended a five-fight win streak. 

The two went at it again at UFC 263 in June, with Moreno blitzing the champ to take the featherweight title. This eagerly anticipated trilogy fight should be insane, but predicting the winner of Moreno vs. Figueiredo is not for the faint-hearted.

The UFC 270 odds for this flyweight title fight favor “The Assassin Baby,” who comes in at -170. The oddsmakers believe Moreno has the edge here, with Figueiredo looking tempting at +147.

Moreno subjected “The God of War” to his first stoppage loss, and is deemed to be on the rise with the 34-year-old potentially on the slip. The Mexican scored one of the top UFC submissions of 2021 that night and could be looking to get his name on this year’s list.

At 28, Moreno is growing nicely into a well-rounded fighter. He has never been stopped, has solid power, and is a real threat on the ground. He proved that he could take everything Figueiredo threw at him in their previous fights, so should be feeling confident by the time the cage door closes.

The Mexican has not lost a fight since being outpointed by Alexandre Pantoja in 2017. Could Saturday night’s bout change that? I’m going to say yes.

Figueiredo didn’t look his best in the rematch but there is still fight in the old dog yet. He knows what he has to do in terms of conditioning, given Moreno’s toughness. Providing he has put the work in, we should see a much more balanced fight, and an outcome that I believe will favor the Brazilian.

My predictions for Moreno vs. Figueiredo are as follows. I’m going to go for an early stoppage for Figueiredo, with Round 2 the one to target. From a betting perspective, he’s good value for the win.

Fans looking to bet on UFC 270 have a potential dogfight to look forward to in this one.

Pereira was set to face Muslim Salikhov at last weekend’s UFC Vegas 46, only for the Russian to withdraw for undisclosed reasons. As much as that was a letdown, we do get to see the Brazilian wildman this Saturday night against Portugal’s Andre Fialho. 

The UFC 270 odds for Pereira vs. Fialho favor the acrobatic “Demolidor,” who comes into this fight on a three-fight win streak.

Although he has the potential to go crazy and blow himself out, he has looked more measured in recent fights. If he can maintain his composure and his output, he should win this fight.

Fialho has won his last four, with stoppages over former UFC competitors James Vick and Stefan Sekulic. He went 4-1 in Bellator and also appeared in the PFL regular season in 2019. Although capable of giving Pereira a tough fight, he will likely end up being overwhelmed by the Brazilian.

Although tempted to go for another knockout in this fight, I believe it will go the distance. With a little uncertainty as to how he gets it done, it might be best to take the moneyline odds.

You could add this to a UFC 270 parlay or just avoid the bet altogether. 

UFC 270 odds see Said Nurmagomedov a favorite in his battle with Cody Stamann this weekend. 

The Dagestan fighter is aiming to break into the rankings at 135-pounds and could make a significant move towards that goal with a win over the American. There’s no doubt that “Mr. Wonderful” has the same aims as his opponent, and would arguably gain more from a win here. 

Stamann’s odds to beat Nurmagomedov are +167. That’s not a bad price at all for a guy that has proven himself to be a dangerous matchup for anyone in the division. His only losses since 2014 have come against the champ, Aljamain Sterling, Jimmie Rivera, and Merab Dvalishvili. 

Nurmagomedov, on the other hand, is 8-1 since 2014. Although more of a striker than his surname might suggest, inactivity has hampered his chances of being recognized among the top prospects from the region.

But how much of this betting line for UFC 270 comes down to that surname?

I’m going for the upset victory here. I think Stamann can take the Russian’s power and push him to the distance. If he can close his man down and keep Nurmagomedov’s output to a minimum, he can very well scrape a decision win on the cards.

Before I share my sleepers for this weekend’s UFC card, let’s first cover my best bets for the event in Anaheim.

These are essentially the best bets to target on the night. By that, I mean the ones that I expect to see come through.

There also has to be a potential financial return on the risk for me to include them here. Although the odds won’t be as juicy as some of the sleepers, on the balance of things, they make sense. 

There you have three solid bets for UFC 270. With those covered, let’s move on to the sleeper picks for the fights.

Again, if you can land top sleepers for UFC 270, you could see a nice return on your investment when the night is over.
