Tyreek Hill Props for 2020 With Odds and Picks

If you don’t think Tyreek Hill is the most electric downfield threat in the NFL, I’m really curious as to who you think is more dynamic. The “Cheetah” can get behind defenses at the drop of a hat, and his quarterback’s arm strength is unlike anything we’ve ever seen.

When Hill is healthy and on the field, there’s little opposing teams can do to contain him.

The four-year NFL veteran is just 26 years old with plenty of room to grow, and Andy Reid knows exactly how to scheme plays that put his stud wideout in the best positions to succeed.

If you want to take a stance on how you think “TyFreak” will perform, the following trio of Tyreek Hill prop bets should be right up your alley.

For someone who is just 5’10” and 185 pounds, this dude packs a lot of punch. He has caught at least six touchdowns in each of his four seasons in Kansas City, including a career-high 12 in 2018 when Patrick Mahomes simply went off and 7 last year playing in just 12 games.

It’s hard to see much of a drop-off taking place when you study how KC’s offense is built.

Between the presence of Travis Kelce and all of Patrick Mahomes’ other weapons, defenses can ill-afford to bracket Tyreek with double teams. Over-the-top help room safeties can only do so much when you’re dealing with the blazing quickness of the Cheetah.

Patrick Mahomes is my NFL MVP pick in 2020 as I think he’ll toss somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 touchdowns. I’ll say Tyreek gets in on at least 10 of them.

Mahomes racks up 300+ yard games like it’s what he was born to do, and we’ve seen what Tyreek Hill is capable of doing when he’s healthy for 16 games (87/1,479/12 in 2018). However, there are a lot of mouths to feed in Kansas City.

Travis Kelce is Patrick’s most dependable target, and Mecole Hardman burst onto the scene as a rookie in 2019, hauling in six TD receptions. Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson are both back in the fold, and some touts believe Clyde Edwards-Helaire will win the 2020 Offensive ROY.

Even if Hill catches 75 passes for an average of 15.5 yards per catch (Hill’s career YPC is 14.6), he’d still fall short of surpassing 1,170 yards. I’m not overly thrilled about it, but I’ll recommend backing the under.

For the same reasons I listed above, I see a bit of value here with the under. In fact, this is probably the Tyreek Hill prop bet I’m most intrigued about placing.

Tyreek has averaged 70.3 receptions/season throughout his career and has only tallied 76 or more catches once. CEH is going to eat into all of the wide receivers’ targets, and don’t be shocked if Mecole Hardman takes the next step toward becoming an elite NFL WR.

Calling enough plays to spread the ball around to all of the gifted athletes running around Andy Reid’s offense is a great problem to have. It’s why a lot of Super Bowl 55 predictions start and end with the Chiefs.

Nevertheless, the throng of vibrant pass-catchers is exactly why Hill approaching 77 catches is unlikely to take place.
