Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino vs. Energetik-BGU Odds, Prediction, and Pick – Belarusian Premier League, April 11

Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino vs. Energetik-BGU Belarusian Premier League

Two of the early pacesetters face off in Zhodino as Torpedo takes on Energetik-BGU. The visitors are now the only club in Belarus to still enjoy a 100% record and will feel that another win is possible considering the standard of teams it has faced so far.

Torpedo started the season well but fell to the powerhouse of Dinamo Minsk at the weekend, so it will be interesting to see whether it can actually compete with the better teams or if those two early victories were down to more luck than talent.

It looks as though BetOnline is just waiting for Energetik-BGU to fall back into a more natural position than the top spot it currently holds. The Minsk club has won every game so far, though, and might feel that it should attract shorter odds here. But these prices are good news for anyone who thinks that Energetik-BGU could go on to do well this season.

Match Preview

Torpedo-BelAZ is another club that saw a number of new recruits through the door in the offseason, and that move is just about working at the moment as six points have already found their way to the Zhodino side. But defeat to Dinamo Minsk in the last game may be a clearer indication of what to expect.

Goals have been far from plentiful, and manager Yuri Puntus may want to change around his starting eleven to help out Valeri Gorbachik up front. He is probably the main focus of the attack but has only recorded one goal so far.

Energetik-BGU, on the other hand, has overachieved, if anything. After losing top goal scorer Ilya Shkurin in the offseason, there was a worry that goals would be hard to come by. But manager Vladimir Belyavski oversaw a dramatic change in attacking personnel, and the victories have kept on coming.

Uzbekistan U23 international Jasurbek Yakshiboev has been the main star, scoring three in three and providing much of the play from the right-hand side of the pitch. But even if Torpedo-BelAZ stops him, there are other options in the Energetik-BGU side for goals.

Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino vs. Energetik-BGU Pick

  • Energetik-BGU to Win

Energetik-BGU has already beaten FC Minsk and BATE Borisov in two of its three wins this season and is looking good to challenge the much bigger clubs in the league. Any team that is able to score goals will have a chance in the Belarusian Premier League, and the intake of attacking players at the club has hit the ground running. This could be four from four for the Minsk club.
