Torpedo Bel-AZ Zhodino vs. Dynamo Brest Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, June 13

The BATE vs. Shakhtyor game on Sunday is probably the game of the week in Belarus, but this one runs a close second.

Both clubs are looking like they will be involved in a prolonged battle to finish in the top three and may even still harbor aspirations of challenging for the league title. Read on for my Torpedo Bel-AZ Zhodino vs. Dynamo Brest prediction.

I’m not entirely sure why MyBookie has priced this game this way. Dynamo Brest may be the reigning champions and has enjoyed a very good couple of weeks, but Torpedo has performed consistently well this season, is at home this weekend, and is higher in the table. The odds for a home win or draw look inviting.

Torpedo has shown throughout the season that it is one of the better sides in the Belarusian Premier League this year. There have probably been too many draws for manager Yuri Puntas’ liking, but the third place the club holds at the moment is fully deserved after some very good results.

After a few years of finishing fifth or sixth, Torpedo is making a concerted effort to break into the top three this year. The defeat to a resurgent Neman is the only real blemish on its record in the last nine rounds of games, and it has not lost to any of the top teams in the division.

Dynamo Brest is looking to be considered in that tier of teams once again after a shaky start to the season. The climb up the table has been slow and steady rather than anything dynamic, but the last few weeks have seen a renewed confidence on show as the positive results have been recorded.

Most impressive has been the number of goals scored. After managing just 13 in the first ten games, Dynamo has scored ten goals in the last two fixtures. There were four in the local derby with Rukh Brest, a side that has only conceded 11 all season, and six in the thrashing of FC Minsk last weekend, with five in the second half. There might be a few goals this Saturday as well.

Dynamo Brest might have belatedly found its scoring boots, but I still like Torpedo to come through this one and keep up the pressure on BATE and Shakhtyor at the top. Those two meet this weekend as well, so a victory over Dynamo Brest would put Torpedo firmly in the picture at the top.
