Top Serie A Games to Bet on in Week Four of the 2021 Season

It is only the fourth round of fixtures in Serie A, but Juve’s inability to win a game so far suggests that this season could be an enthralling affair for Italian soccer fans.
Roma has taken the lead early on, but Inter, Napoli and Atalanta – and others – will all feel as though they have a chance of winning the scudetto.
A more open title race is what everyone (apart from Juventus fans possibly) wants to see, and also provides better odds when it comes to betting picks. There are fewer predictable games when everyone is beating everyone else.
I’ve looked at this weekend’s fixtures in Serie A and selected a few games to look out for, and a few reasons why they might be worth betting on.
Check out what we learned in Serie A in week three, and dive into the best games to bet on this week.
Hellas Verona vs. Roma
Jose Mourinho is certainly enjoying his return to Serie A. After winning everything in his time with Inter, the ‘Special One’ is back to being the center of attention in the Eternal City.
Roma has won all three of its league games so far and sits at the top of the table going into the weekend.
So, this should be another easy three points for the Giallorossi on Sunday, right?
Hellas Verona has failed to pick up a single point so far and has just sacked its head coach after all. But it is exactly that last factor that I feel could have a telling effect this weekend.

Igor Tudor has already been confirmed as the new Verona head coach and the players will want to raise their game after disappointing so far – and to impress the new boss. Roma might have won all three but it has not played any of the big boys yet.
Verona doesn’t fall into that category, but I feel as though the Gialloblu will provide a sterner test for Roma than many predict this weekend. That could result in what would be considered a surprise result.
Genoa vs. Fiorentina
Fiorentina has been one of the revelations of the new Serie A season.
After performing poorly last year – and flirting with relegation at one point – the Viola has started this campaign well, picking up six points from the first three games and enjoying its current eighth place in the table.
After the confusion surrounding the non-appointment of Gennaro Gattuso in the summer, Vincenzo Italiano has continued to show his managerial potential after keeping Spezia in the top flight last season.
Davide Ballardini performed miracles last season at Genoa but lost a major goal threat of his own when Eldor Shomurodov moved to Roma – and that has left the Rossoblu struggling in the opening weeks.
There was a good comeback win away at Cagliari last week, but a fired-up Fiorentina could cause some real problems on Saturday. With Genoa playing at home, the odds could be very attractive in some betting markets.
Juventus vs. Milan
It has not been the best of starts for Maxi Allegri, as he returned as head coach at Juventus.
After relinquishing the title to Inter last year under Andrea Pirlo’s leadership, the Old Lady turned to a tried and tested coach to bring back the scudetto. But, after three games played, Juve is yet to win a game.
The thrashing Juve handed out to Malmo in the Champions League in the week was a good sign of how Allegri has shown that poor results are not acceptable on his watch.
I fully expect that kind of ruthlessness to continue this weekend.
Milan had a very interesting transfer window in the offseason though and has now kicked off the Serie A campaign with three straight victories.
But a demanding Champions League game away at Liverpool on Wednesday is sure to take its toll and I don’t think that Juventus will be in a forgiving mood as it searches for its first win of the season.
That should all make for an enthralling game at the Allianz Stadium.
Betting on Serie A This Week
It is not only Milan that will be affected by the added pressure of European fixtures, of course. The more successful clubs will naturally be forced to fit in more games at this crucial stage of the season.
If the European games are won, then that could have a very positive effect on domestic form. But energy-sapping defeats can also change how the players perform.
Serie A has almost been overlooked in the last few years as La Liga and the Bundesliga seemed to provide more excitement than the Italian top flight.
But, even with the departure of several of its star turns in the summer, the league looks very competitive now. The dismal early form of Juventus just makes every match dray even more interesting.
