Top Goalscorer Betting for Euro 2020 – Odds, Favorites, Outsiders, and Predictions
The wait is finally over! Five years on from the last European Championship, Euro 2020 is upon us – and that means it’s time to place your bets on the tournament’s top goalscorer.
France’s Antoine Griezmann clinched the Golden Boot last time around, netting six goals on home soil at Euro 2016. But can Griezmann fend off the likes of Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku, Kylian Mbappe, and Cristiano Ronaldo to scoop the prize again?
In this Euro 2020 Golden Boot betting preview, I discuss the top scorer odds before analyzing the favorites and sleepers. After that, I share my predictions for the top goalscorer at Euro 2020.
There is only one place to start – the Euro 2020 top goalscorer odds.
Latest Euro 2020 Golden Boot Odds
Let’s start by checking out the Euro 2020 top scorer odds. For the comprehensive player list, head over to Betway’s sportsbook.
England’s Harry Kane (6.50) sits at the summit of the bookmakers’ Euro 2020 Golden Boot odds list, closely followed by Belgium’s Romelu Lukaku (8.50).
French sensation Kylian Mbappe (10.00) is also in the group of Euro 2020 top goalscorer favorites, as is Portuguese megastar Cristiano Ronaldo (11.00).
Karim Benzema (17.00) is back in the France squad following a six-year absence and immediately finds himself among the bookies’ frontrunners, while Holland’s Memphis Depay is also priced at 17.00.
As you can see, there are tons of other big-name stars in the mix. But before we look at the outsiders, let’s analyze the favorites.
Analyzing the Euro 2020 Top Goalscorer Favorites
Can Kane clinch back-to-back Golden Boots at major tournaments? Will Lukaku and Mbappe challenge for the award? Or can Cristiano Ronaldo flex his muscles once again?
I assess the Golden Boot favorites for Euro 2020 below.
Harry Kane (6.50)
Harry Kane loves winning Golden Boots; there is no doubt about that. The Tottenham forward recently picked up his third EPL Golden Boot, adding to the one he secured at the 2018 World Cup.
Although Spurs endured a season to forget, Kane’s personal achievements cannot be ignored. In Jose Mourinho’s defensive-minded team, Kane still managed to bag 33 goals in 49 games, along with 17 assists.
The striker’s international record is outstanding, too. He has netted 34 goals in 54 matches for England – averaging a goal every 1.5 games.
The Three Lions’ Group D opponents – Croatia, Czech Republic, and Scotland – shouldn’t cause them too many problems. If Kane scores a few early goals, he will be extremely difficult to stop.
Romelu Lukaku (8.50)
Having netted 30 goals in 44 matches for Inter Milan during the 2020/21 campaign, Lukaku heads into Euro 2020 on the back of his best goalscoring season to date. But let’s face it – he has always scored goals at a freakish rate.
Despite only recently turning 28, Lukaku is already Belgium’s all-time leading scorer. The former Manchester United man has racked up 59 goals in 91 international appearances – and he is far from finished.
Lukaku seems to thrive on tournament soccer, too. After scoring two goals at the previous European Championship, he bagged four goals in six matches at the 2018 World Cup.
Belgium faces Denmark, Finland, and Russia in Group B, meaning Lukaku is likely to find the back of the net early on. The Red Devils are also expected to go deep into the competition, giving their star striker more opportunities to score goals.
Kylian Mbappe (10.00)
The most valuable soccer player in the world, Mbappe has already achieved so much during his short career. I mean, how many guys can say they’ve won the FIFA World Cup Best Young Player award?
The Paris Saint-Germain starlet shone in Russia back in 2018, scoring four goals on his way to lifting the famous Jules Rimet trophy with France. If his performances since then are anything to go by, he stands a very realistic chance of winning the Golden Boot at Euro 2020.
Mbappe chalked up a whopping 42 goals in 47 games for PSG last term, taking his overall tally for the club to 132 goals in 171 matches.
Still, it is worth considering that France has been drawn in the “group of death”, alongside Germany, Hungary, and Portugal. If Les Blues fail to qualify for the knockout phases, Mbappe’s chances of finishing at the tournament’s top scorer will be slim.
Cristiano Ronaldo (11.00)
Do you really need me to bore you with Ronaldo’s ridiculous goalscoring record?
At the end of the day, CR7 is arguably the greatest player of all time. Sure, he may be 36. But when you look at the numbers he posted last season, he could easily win the Euro 2020 Golden Boot.
Juventus may have missed out on the Serie A title this year, yet Ronaldo still managed to bag 36 goals in 44 games for the Old Lady. Since moving to the Italy in 2018, he has notched a remarkable 101 goals in 133 appearances.
With over a century of international goals to his name, write off Ronaldo at your peril!

Euro 2020 Golden Boot Outsiders to Consider
Kane, Lukaku, Mbappe, and Ronaldo are the Euro 2020 oddsmakers clear favorites to win the Golden Boot. But what about the outsiders?
Here are a few Euro 2020 top goalscorer sleepers to consider.
Karim Benzema (17.00)
Following a six-year absence from the international scene, Benzema is back! One glance at his recent goalscoring record, and it’s easy to see why Didier Deschamps opted to include the Real Madrid striker in his squad.
The 33-year-old netted 30 goals in all competitions for Los Blancos last season, with only Lionel Messi scoring more in La Liga. If he can carry his domestic form into Euro 2020, he will be a serious threat.
Of course, France’s roster is stacked with world-class attackers. As well as Mbappe, Les Blues can call upon the likes of Olivier Giroud, Antoine Griezmann, Kingsley Coman, and Wissam Ben Yedder, to name a few.
But if Deschamps opts to utilize Benzema, he could run riot at Euro 2020.
Ciro Immobile (21.00)
Ciro Immobile has been one of Europe’s top goalscorers for a number of years now. In fact, the Lazio marksman has three Serie A Golden Boots to his name, along with a European Golden Shoe.
Immobile hasn’t always been able to produce his best form for Italy, although he hasn’t been given as many opportunities as other Italian strikers. In 45 appearances for his country, he has only managed to score 12 goals.
However, with Switzerland, Turkey, and Wales alongside the Italians in Group A, there is no reason why Immobile can’t hit the ground running at Euro 2020 and challenge for the Golden Boot.
Robert Lewandowski (23.00)
Speaking of Europe’s top goalscorers, let’s talk about Robert Lewandowski.
Yes, we all know that Poland isn’t likely to go deep into the tournament. But even if Paulo Sousa’s men fail to make it out of their group, it wouldn’t be a massive shock if Lewandowski scores enough goals to keep him in contention for the Golden Boot.
With Spain, Sweden, and Slovakia also in Group E, Poland is more than capable of qualifying for the Round of 16. The further Poland goes, the more chances Lewandowski will get to add to his outrageous tally.
Marcus Rashford (41.00)
I think Marcus Rashford has slipped under the radar when it comes to betting on the Euro 2020 Golden Boot. He may not have finished the 2020/21 season in blistering form, yet he still clocked up 21 goals and 15 assists in all competitions for Man Utd.
Gareth Southgate is obviously blessed with a ton of top attackers. In addition to Kane, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho, and Raheem Sterling are all vying for a spot in England’s starting XI.
That said, Southgate seems to trust Rashford. The 23-year-old has already played in two major tournaments for England, and that could give him the edge over some of England’s other forward players.

My Euro 2020 Top Goalscorer Predictions
When it comes to betting on the top scorer at Euro 2020, a lot depends on how far certain nations go. It is all well and good picking the best striker and backing him to win the Golden Boot. But if his team doesn’t reach the knockout phase, he probably won’t challenge for the award.
With that in mind, I recommend steering clear of players in Group F. With three genuine powerhouses of European soccer – France, Germany, and Portugal – battling it out for a place in the last 16, one of them could easily miss out.
Mbappe may look tempting at 9.00, while Ronaldo’s price of 11.00 is also attractive. However, if you’re looking for a safe Euro 2020 Golden Boot bet, I suggest going for either Kane or Lukaku.
I also like the look of Immobile at 21.00. The in-form Italians qualified for the tournament with a 100% record and have been drawn in a hugely favorable group. If Mancini choses Immobile to lead the line, the lethal Lazio striker could upset the Euro 2020 Golden Boot odds.
