NFL DFS Lineups for Week 12, 2020

Last week was a total disaster in daily fantasy football, so let’s move readily along into week 12, where a worse slate can’t possibly await.

Of course, that is potentially a lie. COVID-19 has already reared its ugly head, with Adam Thielen and J.K. Dobbins being two big names to be placed on the COVID list.

Throw in big injuries to Joe Burrow and Rex Burkhead, and things are made a little less clear thanks to injury, as well. Oh, and it’s a smaller slate than usual, thanks to three Thanksgiving Day games.

While all of this feels like madness, I actually choose to embrace it. It’s condensing things and should give way to some pretty sweet daily fantasy football lineups.

With that, join me as I take a look at my top NFL DFS lineups for week 12, whether it be cash games or tournaments.

Week 12 Daily Fantasy Football Advice

Before we dive headfirst into week 12 daily fantasy football, definitely keep in mind the things I laid out in my intro.

The surefire absence of Burrow takes the Bengals options down a notch in terms of reliability, and the Pats have to find someone to do Burkhead’s dirty work.

Then there’s the COVID-19 situation. Baltimore plays on Thursday, so you can allow their COVID-19 situation to impact how you build NFL DFS lineups on that slate.

Thielen is the other big name to monitor (and of course, more could always pop up). His potential absence could render Justin Jefferson a near-lock for daily fantasy football lineups, and then there would be other value in Minnesota that would open up.

There’s also general NFL betting lines, as we want good environments. Here are the best spots to target at the moment, with the matchup and projected game total listed.

  • Raiders vs. Falcons (55.5)
  • Titans vs. Colts (51)
  • Chargers vs. Bills (54.5)
  • Chiefs vs. Buccaneers (52.5)

Like always, there are other situations to attack, whether it be one-sided stacks, game stacks, or one-offs. But these stand out as the games with the most upside.

It’s also worth noting that all of the games listed above are projected to be pretty tight, with none of them boasting a spread larger than 5.5 points.

Take a look at my early week 12 NFL odds breakdown to get a little insight for each contest, and also note the change in betting lines from then to now.

NFL DFS Cash Lineup for Week 12

  • QB: Taysom Hill – Saints ($6.2k)
  • RB: Dalvin Cook – Vikings ($9.5k)
  • RB: Wayne Gallman Jr. – Giants ($5k)
  • WR: Richie James – 49ers ($3.5k)
  • WR: Russell Gage – Falcons ($4.8k)
  • WR: D.J. Chark – Jaguars ($5.2k)
  • TE: Darren Waller – Raiders ($6k)
  • FLEX: Nick Chubb – Browns ($7.1k)
  • DEF: Buffalo Bills ($2.7k)

Cash game lineups need to differentiate from the field mildly, but you’re either just beating one other person, or you’re trying to finish in the top half of contests.

To do that, you need to eat the good chalk and just avoid any catastrophic gaffes.

I’ll still take on some risk here, and it starts with Hill.

I just love his floor, thanks to his rushing ability. The road date with Denver isn’t ideal, but it actually may just see him run more.

Hill actually flashed solid ability as a passer, and he’s probably too cheap for his upside. Kyler Murray, Josh Allen, and Justin Herbert are all safer, but you get serious savings with Hill.

Dalvin Cook is a lock for me in cash games. He’s a good bet for 20 or even 30 fantasy points every week, and Carolina has been bad against the run on the year.

Elsewhere, Gallman is a bit too cheap, and Richie James could have a sizable role with Brandon Aiyuk and possibly even Deebo Samuel out this week.

Russell Gage is also a fine value with Julio Jones banged up and unlikely to play in week 12.

Chark also stands out due to his cheap price tag. He’s one of my top week 12 NFL DFS sleepers, and he could smash against a suspect Browns pass defense.

Darren Waller is my favorite tight end across all formats, and he’s facing a bad Falcons pass defense that has had major issues against the position.

Nick Chubb has proven to be a monster, too, and he’s one of the best daily fantasy football picks for week 12. Buffalo wraps things up, as they just can be an opportunistic defense, and few will be on them in what could be a high-scoring affair against the Chargers.

NFL DFS GPP Lineup for Week 12

  • QB: Derek Carr – Raiders ($5.7k)
  • RB: Nick Chubb – Browns ($7.1k)
  • RB: Wayne Gallman Jr. – Giants ($5k)
  • WR: D.J. Chark – Jaguars ($5.2k)
  • WR: Robby Anderson – Panthers ($6.1k)
  • WR: John Brown – Bills ($4.8k)
  • TE: Darren Waller – Raiders ($6k)
  • FLEX: Derrick Henry – Titans ($7.9k)
  • DEF: Denver Broncos ($2.2k)

For my favorite week 12 NFL DFS GPP lineup, I’ll drop down from Cook. He’s an amazing player, but he’s also pretty pricey.

Instead, I’ll use the savings to get Chubb and Henry to make up for the points I’m losing by not using Cook. Both are capable of matching Cook, so it’s a calculated risk.

Gallman, Denver, and Chark all help me save a bit. I’ve gone over them above, and we can also save extra salary by rostering Derek Carr (and pairing him with Waller) and also snagging John Brown.

Brown is a major deep threat in a positive matchup with the Chargers. With L.A. likely focused on slowing down Stefon Diggs, we could get a John Brown game here.

Derek Carr was great last week, and I think he keeps it going against the Falcons.

They’ve given up production through the air all year, and Waller has his own delicious matchup in this spot to give us a nice little Raiders stack.

Week 12 NFL Betting

You know my thoughts on this week’s top NFL DFS lineups, but how can it translate to the NFL betting realm?

Well, the selection of the Broncos leads you to a potential Denver upset. That’s possible after seeing what Denver did last week, but the more likely bet is just that their game with the Saints will be low-scoring (and hit the Under).

I also like the Raiders a bit, so you can bet on Las Vegas to win, as well as the Over in their game with Atlanta.

Gallman stands out in a likely Giants win (although Cincy is a very appealing value bet even without Burrow), and Chubb and his Browns should keep it rolling against a bad Jaguars team.

Robby Anderson and D.J. Moore also are in a smash spot against a porous Vikings secondary. I don’t know if they win, but that game should be high-scoring (bet the Over).

There is a lot of fantasy and betting correlation this week, but for a little more of a deep dive, here’s some of my week 12 NFL betting content.
