XFL Week 6 Best Bets

After a suspect week of handing out XFL best bets, things turned the corner in week 5 with a nice 3-1 mark.

The Wildcats (-123) and Guardians (-110) both converted winning bets, while the Over hit in the Roughnecks vs. Dragons game (-110). Nothing there blew the door off of the hinges, but wins are wins and profit is profit.

More of that is the goal going into week 6, where we get a brand-new XFL betting slate and fresh odds. I’ve already gone over the new week with an early XFL betting lines preview, while more content will keep rolling in at our XFL blog.

For my best XFL bets for every week 6 contest, read on.

Tampa Bay Vipers to Win (+155)

The Vipers are without a doubt one of the best teams in the XFL these days. The problem is, their stellar play hasn’t consistently translated into wins, and they’re just 1-4 on the year.

That has kept them fairly grounded in my 2020 XFL power rankings, but all it takes is one big win to potentially turn their season around.

At home against the BattleHawks in week 6 could do the trick. St. Louis is certainly a solid overall team and capable of getting the tough road win, but they didn’t look good last week. They also aren’t going into a matchup that suits their strengths.

If Tampa Bay can get off to a hot start and turn this into a shootout, they could be tough to take out. I’ll give the Vipers the edge at home and highlight them as my favorite XFL upset pick of the week.

New York Guardians (+6.5) -110

New York has impressed the past two weeks. Their defense has been lights-out in allowing 26 total points, while their offense has largely taken care of the football and offered balanced play.

Luis Perez isn’t sensational, but he’s gotten the job done and given the Guardians room to breathe on the other end of the field. He’ll have his work cut out for him this week against the 5-0 Roughnecks, but I wouldn’t be shocked if the Guardians are up to the task.

Not only is New York playing at home — where they’re 2-0 on the year — but they’re facing a fairly beatable Houston defense. The Roughnecks are notorious for allowing a lot of teams to hang around in 2020, too.

New York isn’t the craziest upset play in week 6, but betting on the Guardians to simply beat a 6.5-point spread feels like the much safer option.

DC Defenders to Win (-200)

I don’t like trusting in Cardale Jones, so I’ll mostly just rely on the Defenders as a whole. What we saw in week 5 in DC’s home win was a team that can run the football effectively and still has a fully capable defense.

DC also clearly prefers to play at home, as they’re 3-0 in front of the home crowd now. In their two road games, they got absolutely destroyed.

Cardale Jones isn’t a reason to bet on the Defenders. Ideally, the next time he gets benched, it’s for good. That’d give way to Tyree Jackson, who is a bit more explosive and can’t possibly be worse from a decision-making perspective.

But this bet is about four things; DC has a nice running game, their defense roared back to life last week, they’re at home, and they’re facing Philip Nelson.

The Dallas Renegades still have potential, but they are 0-2 and visibly inept without Landry Jones running their offense. Bettors can take advantage of that fact, even if the -200 moneyline isn’t very alluring.

Los Angeles Wildcats (-2) -110

Phillip Walker is the leading 2020 XFL MVP candidate, but Josh Johnson is seemingly right behind him at this point. There aren’t odds for that wager just yet, but when they arrive, I wouldn’t be shocked to see them own the top two spots.

Johnson’s dominance has been fun to watch, as he’s largely done his damage as a pure passer. The guy has elite rushing ability, but he has either dominated inside the pocket or extended plays and killed defenses while on the run.

He’s what makes LA go, and while their running game and overall defense leave something to be desired, Johnson simply isn’t a guy I enjoy betting against.

Johnson and the Wildcats displayed their insane offensive upside last week, and I tend to think they’ll find success against a weak Dragons defense.

You can get past the spread and just bite on LA to win (-135), but two points isn’t asking much, and we get the odds down to -110 at most XFL betting sites.

Summary

My best XFL bets aren’t always going to align with yours, and that’s okay. You may prefer a different wager in each game, or you might even like the complete opposite of my pick.

This isn’t about my XFL bets being the only option. In fact, if you want a little extra advice, check out our team’s best XFL bets.

But this is a process, and it’s about locating some of the best bets you can find, seeing what the prices are, and offering some insight as to why one person thinks this could be the way to go.

That being said, my XFL best bets went 3-1 last week, and I love these plays for week 6. If you like these picks, be sure to shop around and use them to help you figure out precisely where to bet on the XFL.
