Team Dev vs. Team Canyon Odds, Prediction, and Pick for April 21st – ESPN VALORANT Invitational
This is the first VALORANT match I cover and I’m pretty excited. The new shooter already built a lot of hype and it looks like it has all the ingredients to become an integral part of the competitive esports scene going forward.
We will have a glimpse at what the VALORANT tournaments will look like thanks to the ESPN Invitational that starts today. This Team Dev vs. Team Canyon preview is focused on the opening match of Group B of the competition.
I go through the roster of each side, as well as the available odds, before finishing the post with my prediction and betting pick.
Before I start, let me just say that my colleague Chris Majot has an excellent post that explains the key features of VALORANT and I recommend you to take a look.
Team Dev vs. Team Canyon Odds
- Team Dev to win; -303
- Team Canyon to win; +215
The Team Dev vs. Team Canyon odds above are available at BetOnline, one of the few bookmakers that cover the competition. I’m pretty sure that it will be one of the best sites for betting on VALORANT in the near future too, as soon as there are more tournaments available.
Team Dev Analysis
You don’t normally expect the developers of a certain game to be among the best players, but that’s not the case with VALORANT. The title is relatively new and the roster of this team consists of guys with experience in competitive esports such as CS:GO, CoD, and LoL.
The same squad was able to beat Summit1g full of stars in an exhibition match this year by a score of 39-10. That’s why Team Dev is the big favorite for the upcoming match and the tournament as a whole.
Team Canyon Analysis
One of the few sides that should be able to actually compete with the devs is Team Canyon. The squad is built by excellent players with experience in Apex Legends, Overwatch, CS:GO, and other games that have common traits with VALORANT.
Dizzy and Aceu are the two of the members and I believe they should be prepared for this one. Both showed a lot of promise and Dizzy highlighted his skill during the close alpha.
I believe that Team Canyon should be better in terms of mechanics and that could be enough to compensate the better knowledge of the maps by the developers.
Team Dev vs. Team Canyon Prediction and Pick
- Team Canyon to win; +215
The logical prediction would be to back the developers here, but I believe that Team Canyon might have a shot at taking this one. The squad is full of talented players that surely took the time to prepare properly for the upcoming ESPN VALORANT Invitational.
The price of +215 for the underdog is too tempting and my final pick for this one. And yet, I would recommend it to bet small if you decide to follow because we don’t have enough information yet.
If you are looking for more wagers today, you should certainly check my best esports bets for Tuesday. The post features picks for the likes of CS:GO and Dota 2.
