Taiwan Steel vs. Hang Yuen Betting Preview – Taiwan Premier League, May 17

With the other three fixtures looking very one-sided, this game is definitely the standout fixture in the Taiwan Premier League this weekend.
Benchy Estama gets his first chance to put one over his old club and will want to add a few more goals to his tally after only managing to find the net on two occasions so far this year.
My Taiwan Steel vs. Hang Yuen prediction goes into more detail below.
Taiwan Steel vs. Hang Yuen Odds
Taiwan Steel was expected to be the main beneficiary of Tatung losing key players in the offseason, but there has been a whole host of clubs looking to be involved at the top of the table this year. The MyBookie sportsbook still seems to think that the home side is the clear favorite here, but the odds for the draw look tempting.
Taiwan Steel vs. Hang Yuen Preview
When Taiwan Steel picked up both Taiwan Premier League legend Marc Fenelus from Tatung and Benchy Estama from Hang Yuen, it seemed as if goals were just about guaranteed at Taiwan Steel this season. But neither of those two has been particularly prolific so far, even if the team has scored a few in its first five games.
Most of those strikes have come in the games against the weaker teams in the league, though, and it is very noticeable that Taiwan Steel has lost both games against fellow top five teams so far. There is enough talent in the squad to compete this year, but we haven’t seen too much evidence of that yet.
That’s why Hang Yuen will go into this game with the belief that it can come away with at least a point. The New Taipei club lost its forward line before the season started but concentrated on bringing in defenders to make up for that. The gamble worked, as Hang Yuen is currently second in the league and just two points off the top.
The defense has been very strong, but there have been enough goals — shared around the team — that have kept the unbeaten record going. There has been a majority of home games, so that might have an effect later in the season, but all is looking good at the moment for Hang Yuen.

The Draw+338
I did think Taiwan Steel would be the main player this season in the Taiwan Premier League after raiding its competitors for the best players in the country. The forward line alone would be enough to claim its first-ever title — or so I thought. But it hasn’t been quite as straightforward as that, and Hang Yuen has refused to fade away as some believed it might. This should be an even game, and the odds for the draw look inviting.
