Suwon Samsung Bluewings vs. Incheon United Betting Preview – K League 1, May 23

Two clubs still looking to really start their new seasons meet at the Suwon World Cup Stadium as the Bluewings take on Incheon United.
Last season was underwhelming for both sides, so some early points this year will be of the utmost importance for the managers and players.
Suwon Samsung Bluewings vs. Incheon United Odds
This is another game where bookmaker BetOnline sees a larger gap between the chances of the two sides than I do. I agree that Suwon should be able to pick up its first points of the season here, but the odds for an Incheon win or the draw look longer than expected. If the visitors can keep its strong defensive work going from the first two match days, then it might just have a chance.
Match Preview
Suwon experienced a very underwhelming season last year and was obviously hoping that the slightly delayed 2020 campaign would be much more productive. It hasn’t quite gone to plan so far, and now Bluewings boss Lee Lim-saeng is hoping for his side’s first points of the season from this encounter with Incheon.
That being said, Suwon’s first two games of the new season were probably the hardest it will face. The narrow defeat to Jeonbuk on the opening day is nothing to be embarrassed about, while only a last minute goal from Junior Negao gave Ulsan Hyundai all three points last weekend. There is still hope in Suwon.
Incheon United will be wanting to keep the misery going for Suwon, however. Two goalless draws to kick off the season might not have been the most exciting way to begin. But considering the number of goals this club conceded last year, they should be taken as a step forward.
Strikers such as Stefan Mugosa will want to start their own personal seasons soon, but it might be that a more defensive Incheon is on show this weekend, as Suwon will be out for its first points of the campaign. The terrible start to the 2019 season forced Incheon into yet another relegation fight last year. Maybe these new, more controlled displays will avert the need for that this time around.
Suwon Samsung Bluewings vs. Incheon United Pick
-
Suwon Samsung Bluewings to Win-137
Getting through the first two games against the best teams in the country with a point to show for itself would have been just about as much as Suwon might have been able to expect. Even that was cruelly taken away from them in stoppage time against Ulsan, but there are definitely the signs of a better season ahead for the Bluewings. A win here would change the look of the table and put Suwon on the right track.
