Strictly Come Dancing Odds Update with Best Bets and Predictions (2021)

| November 18, 2021 9:20 am PDT

As we head into Week 9 of Strictly Coming Dancing 2021, the competition is seriously heating up.

Following another action-packed night of Sambas and Tangos, AJ Odudu finished bottom of the Week 8 leaderboard after performing an indifferent Paso Doble with partner Kai Widdrington.

However, Sara Davies and Tilly Ramsay found themselves in the bottom two last weekend. The judges voted to save Tilly, sending Sara home in the dance off.

There are now just seven couples left in the competition, but who will get their hands on the famous glitterball trophy in less than a month’s time?

Let’s check out the latest odds for Strictly Come Dancing 2021 before going over the best bets for the remainder of Series 19. I cover multiple markets in this post, so stay tuned for my Strictly predictions.

Latest Strictly Come Dancing 2021 Winner Odds

Here are the latest odds for the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2021. Make sure you shop around at the top entertainment betting sites to get the best prices.

Rose Ayling-Ellis1.22
John Whaite7.00
AJ Odudu8.50
Tom Fletcher26.00
Rhys Stephenson51.00
Dan Walker81.00
Tilly Ramsay81.00

When I first shared my betting preview for Strictly Come Dancing 2021, John Whaite was priced at 2.37 to win the competition. Rose Ayling-Ellis was a close second at 2.75.

But as you can see, the Strictly odds have shifted drastically over the course of the past month.

Rose (1.22) is now the bookmakers’ out-and-out favorite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2021. John (7.00) and AJ (8.50) are still in the mix, but Rose is the clear frontrunner.

Tom Fletcher (26.00) finds himself between the favorites and outsiders. The McFly frontman has made his way through the competition without any major setbacks and has so far avoided the dreaded dance off.

Despite receiving a perfect 40 from the judges last week, the bookies don’t view Rhys Stephenson (51.00) as a realistic contender to go all the way. But that could change.

Dan Walker (81.00) and Tilly Ramsay (81.00) head into Week 9 as the obvious underdogs. That said, Dan has continuously upset the odds throughout Series 19.

As things stand, Rose looks destined to clinch the glitterball trophy next month. But what about the other Strictly Come Dancing betting markets?

Let’s look at the odds for the next Strictly elimination.

Next Elimination Odds for Strictly Come Dancing 2021

Dan Walker2.10
Tilly Ramsay2.63
Tom Fletcher4.50
Rhys Stephenson9.00
AJ Odudu23.00
John Whaite41.00
Rose Ayling-Ellis81.00

Dan is the bookies’ favorite to leave the competition this weekend. Despite securing his highest score of the series in Week 8, the BBC Breakfast presenter is undoubtedly the weakest of the remaining seven dancers.

Still, the 44-year-old is clearly loved by the public. His likeable character has enabled him to reach Week 9 without participating in a single dance off, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he avoids the bottom two again this weekend.

As the table below details, Dan finished above both Tilly and AJ on the Week 8 leaderboard.

Dancer Dance Score Result
Rhys Stephenson Charleston 40 Safe
Rose Ayling-Ellis Couple’s Choice 39 Safe
John Whaite Samba 38 Safe
Sara Davies Argentine Tango 32 Eliminated
Tom Fletcher Viennese Waltz 30 Safe
Dan Walker American Smooth 29 Safe
Tilly Ramsay Quickstep 29 Bottom Two
AJ Odudu Paso Doble 28 Safe

Meanwhile, Tilly has been forced to compete in each of the last two dance offs. The 20-year-old isn’t the worst dancer on the show, but she obviously isn’t the public’s favorite.

Having found herself in the bottom two in back-to-back weeks, Tilly is walking on thin ice. That’s why I expect her to be the next dancer eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing 2021.

  • My Pick: Tilly Ramsay (2.63)

Strictly Come Dancing 2021 – Betting on the Top Female

Rose Ayling-Ellis1.10
AJ Odudu7.00
Tilly Ramsay41.00

Is this even a debate?

Don’t get me wrong, AJ has produced plenty of standout dances throughout Series 19. Alongside her professional partner, Kai, the television presenter has wowed the judges on numerous occasions.

After picking up 35 points in Week 5, AJ and Kai scored a 37 in Halloween Week before falling just a single point short of a perfect 40 in Week 7.

However, the couple plummeted to the bottom of the leaderboard last weekend. They only managed to pick up 28 points in Week 8, matching their lowest score of the series.

On the flip side, Rose just keeps on going from strength to strength. The EastEnders actress followed up a perfect 40 in Week 6 with a 39 last weekend, underlining her ability.

Let’s not forget that Rose is the first deaf person to compete on the show. Amazingly, she relies on counting and knowing the beat of the music to remember and perform her routines!

The 27-year-old stole the nation’s heart last weekend, performing a moving couple’s choice routine to “Symphony” by Clean Bandit ft. Zara Larsson.

After Rose and Giovanni’s routine, judge Anton Du Beke said it was “the greatest thing I’ve ever seen on the show”. Need I say more?

Of course, the odds are nothing to write home about here. But if you’re looking for a safe Strictly bet, backing Rose to be the top female dancer is a no-brainer.

  • My Pick: Rose Ayling-Ellis (1.10)

Strictly Come Dancing 2021 – Betting on the Top Male

John Whaite1.40
Tom Fletcher4.50
Rhys Stephenson9.00
Dan Walker13.00

While picking the top female dancer is simple, predicting which male dancer will go the furthest is no easy task.

There is a huge gulf between the favorite and the outsider in the female category, but when it comes to the males, the price gap between the frontrunner and the underdog is nowhere near as big.

The bookies’ view John as the favorite in this market – and that isn’t a surprise. I mean, John has the highest average score in the competition.

Dancer Total Points Dances Total Average
John Whaite 273 8 34.1
AJ Odudu 267 8 33.4
Rhys Stephenson 264 8 33.0
Rose Ayling-Ellis 259 8 32.4
Tilly Ramsay 245 8 30.6

Still, it is important to remember that simply being the best dancer isn’t everything. At the end of the day, the public’s vote is final, meaning the most popular celebrity often comes out on top.

Nobody expected Bill Bailey to go all the way at the start of the previous series, but the 56-year-old comedian entertained the public week after week and ended up clinching the glitterball.

According to alleged leaked voting figures, Tom is hugely popular with the public. The pop star is a good dancer, too, having performed with McFly for the best part of two decades.

I can’t see Rhys or Dan winning the competition, so I’m backing Tom to finish as the top male dancer.

  • My Pick: Tom Fletcher (4.50)

Gender of the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 Winner

Since Rose is the overwhelming favorite to win Strictly Come Dancing 2021, it makes perfect sense to back the “female” option in this market.

Even if the EastEnders star fails to triumph (I can’t see that happening by the way!), then AJ is in a strong position to beat the likes of John and Tom to the trophy.

If you’re backing a female to win Strictly 2021, you will need to part ways with a sizeable sum of cash to make a worthwhile profit. With that in mind, you may want to steer clear of this market.

However, if you think that John, Tom, Rhys, or Dan will go all the way, the “male” option could prove to be lucrative.

  • My Pick: Female (1.20)

Betting on Strictly Come Dancing 2021

In my eyes, Rose has already got one hand on the glitterball.

The 27-year-old’s price has been getting shorter and shorter over the past few weeks, and her memorable performance last weekend has seen her popularity grow even further.

It goes without saying that Rose’s odds to win Strictly Come Dancing 2021 are low – but they are low for a very good reason.

If you’re looking for better value, I recommend backing Tom to finish as the top male dancer. The 36-year-old has yet to feature in a single dance off, meaning he must be getting plenty of votes from the public every week.

With McFly’s fan club – “The Galaxy Defenders” – on his side, Tom looks set to reach the latter stages of the competition.
