Smolevichi vs. Shakhtyor Soligorsk Odds, Prediction, and Pick – Belarusian Premier League, April 12
This looks like being one of the most one-sided games of the weekend in Belarus as newly promoted Smolevichi entertains Shakhtyor Soligorsk. The home side has become something of a yo-yo team between the top two divisions over the last few years and has started this season off poorly.
Shakhtyor Soligorsk, on the other hand, has finished in the top three of the Belarusian Premier League in each of the last ten years. It hasn’t made the best start this time around but will be confident of taking the points here.
Read on for my Smolevichi vs. Shakhtyor Soligorsk betting preview.
Latest Odds for Smolevichi vs. Shakhtyor Soligorsk
The perceived difference in class between these two is reflected in BetOnline’s pricing of the game. Even though it is an away game for Shakhtyor, it is odds on to win, with the likelihood of a Smolevichi win considered to be very remote.
Smolevichi only came up this year after finishing second in the First League in 2019. But the club from just outside Minsk is already struggling and only has a point to its name so far. The season actually started off on a very bright note with a creditable draw with champions Dynamo Brest. But it has gone downhill from there.
Back-to-back losses at the hands of Isloch and Vitebsk has seen Smolevichi find a place in the bottom two — somewhere it might have to get used to for the remainder of the season. The squad is much changed from the one that won promotion last year but has not produced the required results as yet.
That means that Shakhtyor Soligorsk has a really good chance of climbing the table itself after a mixed start to its campaign. The worrying thing for manager Yurii Vernydub is that the fixtures have not looked to be too hard so far. Torpedo-BelAZ, Neman, and Gorodeya are not easy touches, but they are games that this team would be expected to deal with.
But there has been just one win from the three games and a distinct lack of goals making the situation even more difficult. There have been a whole host of new attacking players brought into the club, but with no end result. Serbian Igor Ivanovic is one player in particular who is expected to weigh in with a few goals for Soligorsk this season but has not opened his account.
Smolevichi vs. Shakhtyor Soligorsk Pick
Shakhtyor Soligorsk to Win-165
Even with all its goal-scoring problems, this still should be Shakhtyor Soligorsk’s game to lose. There is too much talent in the team not to take advantage of the stuttering start that Smolevichi has encountered on its return to the top flight.
That’s not the only match from the Belarusian Premier League this weekend. There is a full round of games and we have similar previews for all of them, so don’t hesitate to check them out.
