Smolevichi vs. Dinamo Minsk Odds, Prediction, and Pick – Belarusian Premier League, April 24
Smolevichi left it late to pick up the point it needed last weekend to avoid dropping to the bottom of the Belarusian Premier League. Now the minnows get to kick off the round five fixtures on Friday with the visit of powerhouse Dinamo Minsk.
It has been a less-than-perfect start for one of the most established sides in the country, so there is a lot riding on Friday’s game for both teams. Find out more below in this Smolevichi vs. Dinamo Minsk betting preview.
Latest Smolevichi vs. Dinamo Minsk Odds
Dinamo Minsk has been made the favorite by BetOnline here, and it is very difficult to go against that move. Smolevichi is a small club that has only come up to the top flight this season and will probably be fighting against relegation all campaign. Dinamo may not have started the season well, but this is an excellent opportunity to put that right.
It did look as though Smolevichi would go into round five as the basement club as it entered the final minute of its game against Belshina a goal down. But in stoppage time, a controversial penalty decision gave the club from just outside Minsk a lifeline. Evgeny Barsukov stepped up and scored the spot kick, and Smolevichi picked up its third point of the season.
The Belarusian Premier League is so close at the moment that there is still plenty of time for any side to escape the scrap at the foot of the table. But it looks like it will be a tough campaign for Smolevichi, and it needs to work out how to attack as well as defend if it is not to go straight back down again this year.
Dinamo Minsk is currently joining in with the fashion for bigger clubs to struggle in the opening weeks of the season. So a 2-0 win over Neman Grodno last time out was greatly appreciated. The famous old club left it late, though, and only a stoppage time second calmed the nerves at the Dinamo Stadium.
Anything less than another win here for Sergei Gurenko’s team would not be acceptable, however. Dinamo has not recorded back-to-back victories yet this season, and that is a major reason why it finds itself so far down the table. Expect a pressing game from the visitors to reap results here.
Smolevichi vs. Dinamo Minsk Pick
Dinamo Minsk to Win-111
If Dinamo Minsk cannot come away from Smolevichi with a win, then there might be serious questions asked about the suitability of Gurenko to remain in the manager’s job. Three points can be expected, so he should be safe for the short term, but more consistency is definitely needed.
