Slutsk vs. Rukh Brest Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, May 23rd, 2020

The surprise team of the season looks like it is beginning to fade now. Can Slutsk get back to winning ways with the visit of Rukh Brest?

The minnow promoted from the First League last year has been enjoying a successful season of its own so far and has already upset a few of the other bigger clubs. You can find my Slutsk vs. Rukh Brest prediction below.

Rukh Brest to Win+191

Slutsk’s form this season has been a revelation, but there are signs in the last few weeks that the club might be about to drop down the league. BetOnline still makes Slutsk favorite beat Rukh Brest this weekend, but I would be looking more closely at the price for a draw, taking into consideration the number of stalemates the visitors have been involved in already this year.

Slutsk vs. Rukh Brest Preview

Slutsk’s defeat at the hands of a resurgent BATE last week was the first time it had lost back-to-back games this season and also saw it drop out of the top three for the first time. The other loss was at the hands of Energetik-BGU though, so there is an argument for not worrying too much for the future.

But that dip in form could be the start of something bigger. Slutsk had overachieved to find itself so high up in the table, so there is a distinct possibility that there could be a few more defeats over the next few weeks to put the club in what many would consider a more natural position in the league.

If any club can slow down an opponent’s meteoric rise, it would be Rukh Brest. After the one-off goal extravaganza that was the 4-2 win away to Neman the other week, Rukh reverted to type last weekend with another goalless draw with Smolevichi. That’s the third 0-0 scoreline in nine games for the promoted side, that has never scored more than one goal in any other game apart from the Neman fixture.

Those results have seen Rukh Brest comfortably in mid table and only six points off the top. There would seem to be few aspirations of pushing on to challenge for the title, but the club should be quite happy with what has already been achieved in its first ever season in the Belarusian top flight.

My Betting Pick

  • The Draw

Just in case you were unsure of the statistic, it is Rukh Brest that has drawn the most games in the Belarusian Premier League this season, alongside Smolevichi. A few good wins alongside those results as well as some seriously successful defensive tactics has made Rukh one of the toughest opponents in the league this season. Expect another draw here.
