Slavia Mozyr vs. Smolevichi Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, June 19

There were interesting and potentially far-reaching results in the Belarusian Premier League last weekend. But unfortunately for these two clubs, it was more a case of “business as usual.”
Smolevichi still awaits its second win of the season, and Slavia Mozyr remains perilously close to the drop zone. Let’s get into it with my Slavia Mozyr vs. Smolevichi prediction and betting pick.
Slavia Mozyr vs. Smolevichi Odds
Smolevichi’s inability to follow up that first victory of the year last week keeps it eight points from Slavia Mozyr and safety and allows the BetOnline sportsbook to make it the underdog for this game. Slavia Mozyr has hardly been impressive this season but probably deserves the favorite tag. The draw bet might be of interest here, though.
Slavia Mozyr vs. Smolevichi Match Preview
There was just one goal in Slavia Mozyr’s game with Dinamo Minsk last weekend, but unfortunately for Friday’s host, it went to the capital city club and condemned Slavia to another defeat. That’s six for the season now, and even an improved defensive performance can’t help when the forwards are not doing their job.
Smolevichi has not conceded as many goals as some of the other clubs at the bottom of the table, but this looks like a chance for Slavia’s strikers to add to their goal tallies. Slavia had scored in the three games previous to the Dinamo defeat, so should be fairly confident here.
Smolevichi’s momentary blip of confidence proved to be short-lived, as the Premier League minnow was soundly beaten by a resurgent Neman Grodno just a week after picking up its first three points of the campaign. Slavia Mozyr would seem to fall into the same “beatable” camp as Gorodeya, but Saturday’s loss will have deflated the Smolevichi players.
If the visiting team could manage a win here, it could change the whole complexion of the relegation scrap, as Smolevichi has a game in hand on both Gorodeya and Slavia Mozyr. But the way results have gone so far this year, that would seem to be a long shot at the moment.
Prediction and Pick
-
The Draw+258
I’ve gone for the draw here due to Slavia Mozyr’s poor form rather than any real belief in this Smolevichi side. I thought that the win over Gorodeya might spark something in the promoted team, but now I am more inclined to believe that this fixture will end in an uninspiring draw.
