Slavia Mozyr vs. Rukh Brest Odds, Prediction, and Pick – Belarusian Premier League, April 13
Slavia Mozyr plays its Belarusian Cup semifinal first leg game against BATE in midweek and then continues what has been a fairly good season so far with another home game against newly promoted Rukh Brest.
The smaller club from Brest kicked off its first-ever year in the top flight with a famous win against the mighty Dinamo Minsk but has lost its last two games so will be hoping that the Slavia players are still feeling the effects of that game on Wednesday.
My Slavia Mozyr vs. Rukh Brest betting preview goes into more detail about how I think this game could shape up below.
Slavia Mozyr vs. Rukh Brest Odds
Bookmaker BetOnline has priced this game surprisingly close, with Slavia Mozyr considered to be just the slight favorites. With recent results and Slavia’s home field advantage to take into account, I would have thought that Rukh Brest’s odds of getting the win would be much longer than this.
Slavia Mozyr is hardly back to being an established Premier League club after spending far too much time in the First League over the last ten years, but compared to Rukh Brest, it is a seasoned veteran. The Brest club was a farm team of Dynamo up until two years ago and then went and started this season with a bang.
There have been two consecutive losses for Aleksandr Sednev’s side since then. But they were both narrow 1-0 defeats at the hands of BATE Borisov and current league leaders Energetik-BGU, so there can still be much to be proud of. Artem Petrenko is probably the main striker to look out for up front here, and he will be desperate to score against the club he left just two months ago.
Slavia Mozyr brought in a number of new players of its own in the offseason and now has one of the most cosmopolitan squads in the league. It has also been one that has been involved in more goals than anyone else so far. If manager Mikhail Martinovich can get his defense to raise its game to the level of the forwards, then Slavia might even have a chance of doing well.
That upturn should continue here, as Rukh Brest is nowhere near the standard of Dinamo Brest or BATE, who have both been beaten in the last two weeks. This should be the first game for Rukh this season that doesn’t end in a 1-0 scoreline.
Slavia Mozyr vs. Rukh Brest Pick
Slavia Mozyr to Win+125
This could be a very good week for Slavia Mozyr if the midweek cup game goes its way. Three points here could catapult the club into the top three and serve as a statement of intent to the rest of the league. A clean sheet to go with the win would be even better, and the odds for a home win seem very favorable.
