This might not be a game for fans of goals, as the home side has set about this season with a definite defensive tactic in mind. Gorodeya has not really gotten going up front, either, so a low-scoring game could be on the cards.
Rukh Brest can be forgiven for its style considering the size of the club and the fact that it only came up to the top flight for the first time this year. But surely there has to be some more attacking play at some time this season? I’ve detailed my thoughts for you in this Rukh Brest vs. Gorodeya betting preview.
Rukh Brest vs. Gorodeya Odds
Rukh Brest to Win+102
Gorodeya to Win+274
Considering the form of both these sides, BetOnline might have been forgiven for making the draw the favorite here. There doesn’t look like there will be many goals, and a point for either team would probably be heartily welcomed as well. Rukh Brest might look to press home field advantage, but the odds for a home win do not look particularly tempting.
Rukh Brest vs. Gorodeya Match Preview
Rukh Brest has set its stall out early this season and has now won two, drawn two, and lost two in its first six games in the top flight. Manager Aleksandr Sednyov would probably consider that as a job well done, and it is hard to argue with that viewpoint. Achieving promotion to the Belarusian Premier League so soon after the club’s formation is an achievement in itself, so self-preservation is totally understandable.
Rukh has only scored two goals so far this season, and every single game has finished in a 0-0 or a 1-0 scoreline. I’m not sure that will change this weekend, as Gorodeya is hardly the most prolific team in the league, either.
All Gorodeya’s victories have come by the same 1-0 scoreline, but BATE managed to end its three-game winning streak last weekend. An inability to find the net could trouble Gorodeya as the season goes on — and in this game — as, if anything, Rukh seems better at dealing with opposing strikers.
The caliber of the teams that Gorodeya has managed to beat this season is not of the highest quality, and the side looked second-best for the majority of that loss to BATE. How this one goes really depends on whether manager Oleg Radushko considers a point against Rukh as a positive. If he doesn’t, we may see a more attacking formation, but don’t count on it.
Betting Prediction and Pick
With the way that Rukh Brest approaches its fixtures and the way it has managed to nullify opponents week after week this season, I’m not sure you can really look past the draw here. In all probability, that will be a goalless draw, too. Just the one point would be acceptable for both managers, so I have a feeling that this game might not be able to produce an extensive highlights reel.
