Rukh Brest vs. FC Minsk Belarusian Premier League

One of the newest clubs in Belarus welcomes FC Minsk to Yunost Stadium in Brest for this round five fixture. Rukh’s defensive play has been a feature of its first four games, so this could be another low-scoring game.

Minsk has been involved in the more exciting games but has been unable to really get things going as of yet. This is a chance for both sides to lay down a marker in the Premier League this season.

I explore this match in my Isloch vs. Slavia Mozyr betting preview below.

Latest Rukh Brest vs. FC Minsk Odds

Rukh Brest to Win+143
The Draw+208
FC Minsk to Win+210

Online sportsbook BetOnline has obviously not been too impressed with FC Minsk so far this season, as it makes newly promoted Rukh Brest the slight favorites to come away from this one with a win. I would have thought that the draw is a more likely outcome at first glance, and the odds for a stalemate seem to offer better value, too.

Rukh Brest vs. FC Minsk Preview

After becoming the second Brest-based club in the Belarusian Premier League, Rukh made the perfect start by beating Dinamo Minsk away from home on the very first day of the season. But things have stalled somewhat since then. There had been two losses before the draw with Slavia Mozyr at the weekend.

But considering that Rukh has already played two of the top three as well as BATE and Dinamo Minsk, the results could be regarded as fairly positive. If Aleksandr Sedynov can keep his defense as tight as it has been in the opening fixtures for the rest of the season, Rukh could stand a good chance of staying up.

There will be a thought that it could get the better of FC Minsk on Saturday, too. The visitors may be the more established side, but it has fallen away dramatically in the last two games, conceding five and scoring none in two very one-sided defeats. Rukh Brest might seem like a good team to come up against now, but it has not rolled over for anyone so far.

If Vladimir Khvashchinskiy can find his goal-scoring touch of the first two games of the season, then FC Minsk might have more of a chance. But the striker, who is on loan from Shakhtyor Soligorsk, has not found the net in the last two games and has not been the only one not making enough chances for his team.

Betting Prediction and Pick

  • Rukh Brest to Win

This will probably be a very close game, with the defensive tactics of the home side dominating proceedings. Rukh will look to take advantage of any mistakes from the visitors, and if that does happen, then a narrow home victory could be the final outcome.
