RB Leipzig vs. Paderborn Betting Preview With Pick – Bundesliga, June 6

It has been a tough season in the German top flight for Paderborn, so it seems a little unfair for the smallest club in the league — that is also bottom of the table — to have to play RB Leipzig just a week after facing Dortmund.

But that is how the fixtures have fallen, and now Paderborn manager Steffen Baumgart will have to figure out how to keep Timo Werner at bay.

Absolutely no surprises here from the BetOnline sportsbook. RB Leipzig is the clear favorite to pick up the three points, and there is no way that you can argue with that assessment of this fixture. Paderborn comes into this after a mauling by Dortmund, and Leipzig is in devastating form as well. This could get ugly.

RB Leipzig has stumbled back into action with two unexpected draws and some big wins since the Bundesliga resumed. The latest 4-2 win over Koln was without Yussuf Poulsen, who was out with an ankle injury, but Patrick Schick grabbed another goal in the comprehensive performance. The Czech striker has nine in 18 games now.

But Timo Werner was the main focus of attack once again. He recorded his 25^th of the season as Koln was beaten back after taking the lead early on. Leipzig is nine points behind Bayern with just five games to play, so title aspirations will probably have to wait another year.

Paderborn, on the other hand, should be planning on how it is going to win promotion back to the Bundesliga at the first attempt. Relegation is a virtual certainty now and Dortmund turning on the style to win 6-1 at Paderborn’s own stadium at the weekend didn’t really help matters.

Dortmund — and Jaden Sancho in particular — was on fire in that game, and it is unlikely that anyone in the league could have lived with Lucien Favre’s side. There have been times this season when Steffen Baumgart’s team has surprised Bundesliga fans, but the players should now just make the most of the remaining games, as the latest adventure is almost over.

There is simply no way I can see Paderborn going to the Red Bull Arena and coming away with even a point this Saturday. After the Dortmund game, it is clear — if it wasn’t before — that Paderborn just isn’t up to the required standard to compete in the Bundesliga. The odds for a home win mean that a single bet is hardly worth it, but an RB Leipzig victory could be used as part of a parlay bet.
