WWE Clash of Champions 2020 Betting Preview with Predictions

The 2020 edition of Clash of Champions is almost here and the WWE made sure to book some cool fights for September 27. The big one is between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton, but there are plenty of other matches with titles on the line.

The top betting sites already released their odds, so it’s time for my WWE Clash of Champions 2020 predictions. I share my expectations for all six fights that have been announced so far and I will update the post with previews for all matches that are added to the schedule.

Randy Orton to Beat Drew McIntyre

There’s little doubt that the match between Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton for the WWE Championship is the most anticipated clash of the 2020 WWE Clash of Champions. The Scotsman already beat the same opponent during SummerSlam, but that was just the beginning of the story.

I believe we’re set to watch that rivalry for a while and the best way to achieve that would be for Orton to win. The legend has already beaten multiple stars in his career and that makes him the perfect man to stop McIntyre.

The sportsbooks seem torn on this one, but I prefer to trust Orton in my 2020 WWE Clash of Champions predictions.

Roman Reigns to Beat Jey Uso

You rarely see cousins fight each other on television and that’s exactly what is going to happen during Clash of Champions 2020. Jey Uso beat King Corbin, Matt Riddle, and The Celtic Warrior to earn a shot at Roman Reigns and his WWE Universal Championship belt.

This one looks like the most one-sided affair, to be honest, and I simply don’t see why WWE would push Uso as the new champion. Reigns just returned to action after some period of absence and I don’t think he will lose his belt so soon and against such an opponent.

Bayley to Beat Nikki Cross

Another exciting clash in the schedule is the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Bayley and Nikki Cross. The duo already met during the WWE The Horror Show at Extreme Rules where the champion won thanks to some assistance from her partner Sasha Banks.

She won’t be around this time and Nikki Cross apparently is ready to go again.

This one is hard to predict and Cross had to go through a Fatal-4 match to get here. And yet, I have the feeling that WWE might be looking to put an end to this feud, so a victory for Bayley makes the most sense.

The Riott Squad to beat Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler

I know that most people will be surprised by this one but hear me out. The Riott Squad had to face the IIconics recently and the stakes were high. The winners would go on to challenge Jax and Baszler during the 2020 Clash of Champions, while the losers had to disband.

Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott obviously won, so I believe that the WWE has big plans for their future. Winning the SmackDown Tag Team Championship makes a lot of sense under such circumstances, so I’m going for the Riott Squad in my Clash of Champions 2020 predictions.

Sami Zayn to Beat Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles

The WWE Intercontinental Championship will be on the line in the recently announced Triple Threat Ladder match between the champion Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, and Sami Zayn. All three of them have been in possession of the belt in the past couple of months, so it’s hard to predict what’s going to happen.

I have the feeling that this one would be won by Sami Zayn. He was the original champion before vacating his belt and he’s been calling out both opponents since. I believe that the WWE has been building this one towards another win for Zayn.

Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura to Beat Lucha House Party

The men’s WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship will be on the line during the 2020 Clash of Champions as well. The wrestlers from Lucha House Pays have been trying to get it for a while now and they will have the chance to do so on September 27.

I believe that the team had to go through some changes, though, and the return of Kalisto opens the door to a storyline of division in the squad. That’s why I expect Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura to keep their belts during the Clash of Champions.
