OG vs. Alliance Betting Preview and Prediction, April 28, 2020

The Pushka League Division 1 has brought us plenty of exciting Dota 2 matches already and it’s time for another batch of them today. There are three encounters in Group Europe and I decided to cover the one between OG and Alliance.

The favorite hasn’t played in the tournament yet and will be hoping to start with a victory against an opponent that should be beatable.

I share my thoughts on both sides’ chances in my OG vs. Alliance betting preview. It also features the latest odds, my prediction, and a recommended betting pick for Tuesday’s match.

OG vs. Alliance Odds and Lines

  • OG to win; -250
  • Alliance to win; +175
  • OG (-1.5); +115
  • Alliance (+1.5); -167
  • Over 2.5; +100
  • Under 2.5; -154

The OG vs. Alliance odds I’ve listed here are courtesy of Betway, one of the top esports betting sites on the web. It covers all Pushka League matches and the odds are up way earlier compared to the other online bookmakers.

OG Team Analysis

OG is the only team from Group Europe that is yet to play in the Pushka League. The squad had an extended break after the ESL One Los Angeles and enough time to prepare well for the current competition.

While 2020 hasn’t been flawless for OG, the team still beat most of its opponents. There’s no reason to expect any different in the Pushka League and this is my favorite for Group Europe of the competition.

Alliance Team Analysis

I’m curious how the final form of Alliance will look after the team is undergoing some changes in the roster. s4 has joined at the beginning of April as the captain, but the squad still lacks a permanent fifth member.

Xibbe was the stand-in for the ESL One LA and fng has stepped up for the Pushka League. That brings some level of inconsistency and it showed in the first round against Team Secret. And yet, Alliance bounced back with a victory over Team Liquid that displayed the side’s potential.

The team might be a work in progress right now, but the quality of the members is high enough to cause trouble to any opponent.

OG vs. Alliance Pick

  • Over 2.5; +100

I don’t think that Alliance can beat a team like OG at this point and my prediction is that the favorite will win this one. However, I expect a lot of resistance and I won’t be surprised if the underdog wins one map here.

That’s why I decided to back over 2.5 with my final betting pick. The price of +100 is solid and another argument is that OG might not be at their best so early in the Pushka League.
