OG vs. Alliance Betting Preview with Prediction and Pick – ESL One Birmingham, EU and CIS, May 31st

| May 31, 2020 1:14 am PDT

The group stage of the ESL One Birmingham EU and CIS ends today and several teams still don’t know their fate. Alliance is one of them and there are different options for the squad depending on the last round.

There’s a huge chance for a place in the upper bracket with a victory over the already eliminated OG. N0tail and his teammates have been the huge disappointment of the competition and will be looking to restore some pride today.

My OG vs. Alliance betting preview includes the latest odds and my analysis of both sides before I share my prediction and free betting pick.

OG vs. Alliance Odds and Lines

  • OG to win; +115
  • Alliance to win; -147
  • OG (+1.5); -312
  • Alliance (-1.5); +228
  • Over 2.5; -105
  • Under 2.5; -120

The OG vs. Alliance odds I’ve used here are offered by BetOnline, one of my favorite online betting sites for Dota 2. All matches from the ESL One Birmingham are covered and you can get around 40 different markets for each.

OG Team Analysis

There’s little doubt that OG has been the unpleasant surprise of the ESL One Birmingham. The expectations were high before the start and many though that we will see the squad in the playoffs, at the very least.

It quickly became clear that will be a tough task because OG looked off the pace in most matches. The team managed to beat Winstrike in round two and lost against the rest of the group.

The questionable drafting in some games and the poor execution ruined the team’s chances. It’s obvious that OG needs to work hard to catch the rest of the Dota 2 elite after the arrival of the new meta.

Alliance Team Analysis

I expected a lot by Alliance in the ESL One Birmingham and I’m happy with what I’ve seen up to this point. The team started with two defeats but has been unbeaten since and the place in the playoffs is guaranteed before the last round.

The big question is if Alliance will start from the upper or the lower bracket. A win against OG could be enough for a better starting position and I’m sure that would be more than enough to motivate the squad for today’s match.

The momentum certainly is with Alliance after the excellent defeat over VP.Prodigy and I expect to see the best of the side.

OG vs. Alliance Prediction and Free Betting Pick

The logical prediction here would be to back Alliance today and that’s what I’m going to do. The price of -147 is decent, but I think going one step further is the better choice. That’s why I’m going to pick Alliance to cover the -1.5 handicap versus OG, available for the exceptional price of +228.

  • Alliance (-1.5); +228
