That makes me feel a little better about writing about Kim Kardashian’s future dating prospects. Before now, it would have felt a bit odd with her still being a married woman.

Now that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have officially announced they’ll be getting divorced, everyone can freely ponder who could be the next man in her life.

Kardashian is notorious for dating high-profile celebrities, from athletes to musicians, and after dating someone as eccentric as West, it will certainly be interesting to see where she goes from here.

The top sites for betting on entertainment had pushed out props asking who Kim Kardashian will date next, but it was pure speculation until now.

This is quite the list. The odds for who Kim Kardashian will date next are led by political commentator Van Jones, who looks like the heavy favorite with his +125 odds at BetUs.

It’s an odd fit for the 52-year old at first glance, but he’s actually worked closely with Kim Kardashian on prison reform. There are other dots to be connected here, too, seeing as Jones is a lawyer, and Kardashian is reportedly working towards becoming one, herself.

She’d also be following in her father’s footsteps, as he was famous for his legal practice – namely on the O.J. Simpson trial.

With West currently living in Wyoming and with reports that he “hasn’t been around much,” it appears this could be a truly amicable separation.

Betting on Kim Kardashian’s next boyfriend shouldn’t be done until you first reflect on where she’s been.

This isn’t that important in a vacuum, especially since the 40-year old mother of four is moving on to bigger, better things.

In theory, Kardashian has once again learned more about love and relationships and may finally know exactly what she (and her kids) want and need in a future partner.

Her past relationships were admittedly when she was far younger, but they also attached her to fairly immature characters.

Kim Kardashian has dated a few other people mixed in here and there, but nobody else sniffed a year.

Her dating history has been spotty at best. She has had her own commitment and communication issues, but after dealing with a volatile personality like West, I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt here.

As in, she’s 40, a mother four times over, and intent on pursuing a law degree.

With her goals and ambitions in front of her, it feels unlikely that she’ll just fall into another romance that lacks a truly strong foundation.

That said, before looking to the future, always take a quick peek at the past.

It is quite possible Kim Kardashian doesn’t date anyone for a while. She has historically not gone very long without dating someone, but she does have four kids.

An insider revealed recently that she “isn’t ready to date” and “isn’t focused on dating” just yet.

She’s also working hard to become a lawyer. If she’s serious about all of these things, it’s possible it could be a while before we hear about who she’s dating next.
