Odds and Prediction for Erling Haaland’s Next Club – Who Will He Sign With In 2021?

| April 24, 2021 3:13 am PDT

Erling Braut Haaland. The guy’s a goal-scoring machine. So, it’s hardly surprising that just about every major European club wants a piece of the 20-year-old striker.

Alongside Kylian Mbappe, Haaland is widely regarded as the heir to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s throne.

Having seemingly already outgrown Borussia Dortmund, the question on everyone’s lips is – where will Haaland go next?

Currently valued at around €110m ($132m), he obviously will not be cheap. Still, the richest clubs on the planet look set to do battle for the generational talent at the end of the season.

Below, I check out the odds for Haaland’s next club and look at the frontrunners to secure his signature. After assessing the favorites, I will share my Haaland transfer predictions.

Erling Haaland’s Next Club Betting Odds

All the top online sportsbooks enable us to be on which club Haaland will sign for next. Here are the latest odds for Haaland’s next team.

Manchester City2.50
Real Madrid3.50
Barcelona 4.33
Chelsea 8.50
Manchester United10.00
Bayern Munich11.00
Inter Milan34.00
Leicester City41.00
Atletico Madrid51.00
AC Milan67.00
Tottenham Hotspur81.00

Manchester City is currently the favorite to sign Haaland, although the bookmakers clearly believe that both Real Madrid and Barcelona stand a good chance of acquiring his service.

EPL giants like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool are also among the frontrunners, along with European powerhouses such as Bayern Munich and Juventus.

You get the picture, right? Everyone wants a piece of the Norwegian. But who will sign Haaland?

Let’s take a closer look at the favorites and make some predictions for Haaland’s next club.

Will Haaland Go to Man City?

“Beautiful, huh?”

It’s safe to say that Haaland caused a stir when he uttered those words. In fact, his first impressions of the Etihad Stadium sent social media into meltdown.

Of course, he isn’t going to sign for Man City simply because he likes the look of the stadium. But prior to Dortmund’s clash with City in the Champions League quarter-finals, he certainly fueled speculation.

With Sergio Aguero leaving Man City at the end of the season, you would think that Pep Guardiola will be on the hunt for a replacement striker.

We all know that Guardiola already has a frightening array of attacking talent at his disposal, although no current City player can do what Haaland does.

Interestingly, the Haaland family also has ties to Man City. Erling’s father, Alf-Inge, played for the club between 2000 and 2003.

Alf-Inge has reportedly had a big say in Erling’s career up to now, so he could persuade his son to join his former club.

Haaland to Real Madrid?

Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left the Bernabeu in 2018, the Spanish champions have been crying out for their next “Galactico.”

Real Madrid has spent huge fees on the likes of Eden Hazard (€115m) and Luka Jovic (€63m) since Ronaldo’s departure, but nobody has been able to fill the void left by CR7.

Los Blancos are renowned for splashing the cash of big-name superstars – and Haaland could be next in line.

Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola, is one of the most powerful super agents on the planet.

Given that Raiola has already met with Real Madrid’s president to discuss a potential deal, many believe that the Spanish giant has the upper hand.

However, with Los Blancos refusing to pull out of the proposed European Super League, Haaland may want to steer clear of Madrid.

Can Barcelona Afford Haaland?

Not so long ago, Barcelona was able to compete with Europe’s top clubs in the transfer market. Fast forward to today and the club is in a mess behind the scenes.

Back in January, Barca’s financial report revealed debt reaching €1.2 billion. Can a team with that much debt seriously attempt to sign one of the most expensive players in the world?

Well, top soccer clubs always seem to find ways to generate cash. Regardless of their debt, the Catalans will probably be able to wangle a spot in the race to sign Haaland.

The prospect of Haaland playing alongside Messi is enough to get any soccer fan excited. However, it feels like Camp Nou isn’t the most likely destination for the striker, at least for now.

Will Chelsea Bid for Haaland?

It is no secret that Roman Abramovich is more than happy to part ways with his money.

I mean, the Russian billionaire has ploughed endless amounts of cash into Chelsea from the moment he bought the club back in 2003.

While other teams were struggling to deal with the pandemic-induced financial constraints, the Blues spent almost €250m last summer – signing guys like Kai Havertz (€80m), Timo Werner (€53m), and Ben Chilwell (€50m).

Something tells me that Abramovich will go hell for leather to sign Haaland.

With Werner struggling to settle at Stamford Bridge, it wouldn’t be a shock if the Blues set their sights on luring the Norwegian prodigy to London.

Would Haaland Move to Man Utd?

Every time a big-name star is up for grabs, Man Utd is always included in the conversation.

Having said that, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Red Devils’ public pursuit of Jadon Sancho – another Dortmund starlet – has deterred Haaland from settling in the red half of Manchester.

By all accounts, United’s negotiation tactics did not sit well with Dortmund, so the German side may be reluctant to do business with the English giant.

Given that Ed Woodward is set to leave his role as executive vice-chairman at the end of the 2021, there is likely to be a big shake-up behind the scenes at Old Trafford. Still, I’m not sure that will sway Haaland.

Could Bayern Snatch Haaland?

How many times have we seen Bayern Munich sign one of Dortmund’s best players?

I don’t actually know the exact answer to that question, although I can tell you that Bayern has gained a reputation for snatching many of BVB’s star performers in recent times.

Of course, Robert Lewandowski is the most high-profile example. But let’s not forget that the Bavarians have also taken guys like Mats Hummels and Mario Gotze from their Bundesliga rivals.

At the end of the day, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Bayern stole Haaland from Dortmund.

But with Robert Lewandowski very much the main man in Munich, does the club really need another striker?

Lewandowski isn’t getting any younger, but he still has plenty of years ahead of him. I don’t think Bayern will be on the lookout for his replacement anytime soon.

Can Anyone Else Sign Haaland?

I think we can disregard clubs like Tottenham, Leicester, and Arsenal right off the bat. Haaland will expect to play in the Champions League every single season – and clubs like that can’t guarantee European soccer on a consistent basis.

You can’t discount Juventus and Liverpool when it comes to the race for Haaland’s signature. Haaland would surely love to play alongside Ronaldo in Turin, while the lure of Anfield is always there.

That said, both Juve and Liverpool have struggled to compete in their domestic league’s this season.

Ultimately, Haaland’s next move take him to the next level. If he goes to somewhere like Milan or Atletico, is he really furthering his career? I don’t think so.

My Erling Haaland Transfer Prediction

At this stage, it is difficult to predict where Haaland will end up. But one thing is certain – the battle for his signature will be fierce.

The Norwegian youngster has the potential to become one of the most prolific forwards in soccer history, meaning we are likely to see an all-out bidding war for the 20-year-old.

In my eyes, Haaland feels like the perfect fit for Man City.

With Aguero leaving the Etihad, Haaland has the chance to become the focal point of Guardiola’s attack for years to come.

On top of that, Guardiola is renowned for turning promising youngsters into world-class stars. He has nurtured players such as Messi and Foden, so Haaland will surely be tempted to fulfil his potential under the Spaniard.

While Man City seems to be the most likely destination for Haaland right now, you can’t write off the Spanish giants. After all, Raiola has already met with representatives of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Chelsea and Man Utd are also likely to compete for Haaland’s services, but I can see Man City winning the race.

If soccer specials and props are your thing, why not try your luck at betting on Ronaldo or Messi’s next club?
