I can understand why North is given the advantage here. The Riders sit lower in the rankings and they are still considered underdogs at this level despite their impressive start in the tournament.

The Danes have been one of the positives teams in Group B. Without shining too much, they have clinched two huge wins and the game against Movistar Riders presents a great opportunity for them to continue their playoff hunt.

And they definitely have the resources to win today. Captain MSL is one of the most experienced players on the scene and players aizy and Kjaerbye have provided ample support in matches against mousesports and c0ntact.

The team will kick themselves for losing ties against GODSENT and Copenhagen Flames but should be feeling good about their chances today.

The hype surrounding the Riders has died down a bit but they are still hanging in there.

The team firmly established itself as the big surprise package of the tournament after gunning down mousesports and c0ntact in the first two rounds but reality has set in since and now steel and company will need to make another push if they are to make the playoffs.

They were more than a match for group leaders FaZe but heavy losses against Copenhagen Flames and G2 have left them in a bit of limbo.

I wouldn’t be too quick to rule them out, though, as ALEX and steel have proven they belong at this level.

The Danes pummeled today’s opponent at the 2019 Sevilla DreamHack event but a lot has changed since then. Movistar Riders have consistently improved and their qualification and performances at this ESL One event have shown that the group has the confidence to perform at this level.

They will definitely want to avoid Vertigo as the map is their biggest Achilles heel and North is quite good on it. But this aside, the Riders boast better numbers on no less than four maps.

I reckon this will be a fierce contest and with the way these teams have held their own in recent games, I just can’t see how it will be settled in two rounds.

So, my final pick here will be the Over 2.5 market, and the odds of -114 are a very decent price given the circumstances.
