NFL Win Total Betting – Predicting Vikings’ Wins in 2020
The Minnesota Vikings made some nice progress in 2019, as they won a huge road playoff game and finally started believing in Kirk Cousins.
Things did take a weird turn when the franchise traded Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills, but this team still projects nicely. In fact, the Vikings only got better in the 2020 NFL Draft and could be a nice Super Bowl sleeper going into next year.
Of course, Minnesota has to prove that’s the case first, especially since they completely overhauled their pass defense and lost a game-changing wide receiver.
Those are things to consider when making Minnesota Vikings win total predictions for 2020.
So, how many games will the Vikings win? Consider the odds and my analysis before giving an answer or placing any bets.
Vikings’ Win Total Over/Under
Minnesota was the second-best team in the NFC North in 2019, finishing a respectable 10-6 and backing into the playoffs. Some would have suggested they were truly the top team in the division, however, while they easily could have had a better record.
Needless to say, if the Vikings are to avoid any kind of regression, logic suggests they should be a solid bet to chase 10+ wins again. The positive momentum gained in that big road playoff game can’t hurt, that’s for sure.
I do not like this win total over/under, but I do tend to believe in the Vikings. Cousins isn’t elite, but he’s certainly not bad, either. He’s got weapons, Dalvin Cook heads a fantastic rushing attack, and Mike Zimmer leads a still-strong defense.
Minnesota looks like a playoff team, if not a potential title threat. If I have to bet on this total, the over is the easy call.
Over 9 Wins-120
Vikings’ Exact Win Total
I’m sure you can guess where I’m going with this wager, as the Vikings won ten games in 2019 and will probably be a threat to do so again.
Minnesota isn’t about to go 15-1 or have a perfect season, while they’re too good to just face-plant into a 4-12 campaign or worse. The 5-9 range gives you the most wiggle room in case they do falter a bit, but I don’t like the odds of them having a really difficult time getting wins.
Bettors might be a bit too focused on the high end of the 10-14 wager, but really, all Minnesota has to do is go 10-6 again, and you convert the bet. And are they capable of having a far better season? Absolutely.
Betting on the Vikings in 2020
The Vikings look like a rock-solid team to bet on in 2020. Bettors will likely look to back them on an individual game basis, they’re viable contenders to win their division, and they look like a solid bet to make the NFL playoffs.
If things break just right, Minnesota may have the coaching, offensive balance, and defense to make a title run. I wouldn’t bet the farm on the Vikings winning their first-ever Lombardi Trophy this year, but it’s not off the table.
Two great bets are Minnesota to win the division or get over nine wins, but the best Vikings wager is the 10-14 window. Minnesota showed their upside last year, while the Vikings have been very competitive under Mike Zimmer, winning 10+ games three times since 2015.
I think they do that again in 2020 and give bettors a little value in the process.
