NBA Player Prop Bets for the 2020 Restart – Expert Picks for the Best Props

NBA Player Prop Bets for the 2020 Restart

We’re inching closer and closer to July 31st. NBA fans have had the date circled on their calendar ever since Adam Silver made the official announcement that basketball was resuming, and so have many online sports bettors.

Aside from betting on individual games or who will be the last team standing, the top sports betting sites have introduced a bevy of NBA player props.

Feel free to sift through the entire collection, although I’ve narrowed it down to my five favorites.

Here are the best NBA player props for the 2020 restart.

LeBron James Over 26.5 PPG

Over 26.5-130
Under 26.5-110

As great of a passer as LBJ is, he’s not going to rely on the role players in La La Land to go out and win him his fourth ring. If that means LeBron has to be a bit more selfish than usual, then so be it.

James has a tendency to increase his scoring once the postseason kicks in — just go back and look at past data. LeBron tallied 34.0 PPG in the Cavs’ 2018 playoff run and 32.8 in the 2017 playoffs. In totality, the NBA Playoffs’ all-time leading scorer averages 28.9 points/game in his 239 postseason appearances.

I suggest booking this prop bet sooner rather than later, as the odds on the over have already jumped from -120 to -130.

  • Over 26.5 PPG

Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 12.5 RPG

Over 12.5-120
Under 12.5-120

If this Greek Freak pop bet was proposed last year, perhaps I would consider investing in the under. However, Giannis is averaging 13.7 rebounds per game this season and has shown zero signs of slowing down.

A few months off and playing games in Disney World is nothing to be concerned about — not in terms of Antetokounmpo’s rebounding total.

The Bucks may not coast to the Finals, but I envision Giannis cruising to video-game-like numbers just like he has produced for two years running. That should include tallying more than 12.5 rebounds per contest.

  • Over 12.5 RPG

Luka Doncic Under 9 APG

Over 9-120
Under 9-120

Let’s peer ahead to the most likely scenario for the Dallas Mavericks. They’re staring at a first-round matchup with the Clippers once the playoffs arrive, and that means defenders like Kawhi Leonard and Patrick Beverly will be draped all over the Mavs’ star point guard.

While that would seem to negatively affect his scoring output, it’s also going to take away from his heady play-making ability. As I referenced in the link below, Luka’s averaging 8.3 assists per game since the beginning of December, and if anything, I expect him to emerge from the layoff playing even more aggressively.

  • Under 9 APG

Zion Williamson Under 24.5 PPG

Over 24.5-115
Under 24.5-115

Zion Williamson was playing lights out before the season was abruptly suspended. A 19-game sample size isn’t very big, but he was shooting 59% from the floor and playing more minutes than expected. It all added up to 23.6 points per game — extremely reputable for a 19-year-old rookie. BUT…

The bookies installed this Zion Williamson prop at 24.5 PPG knowing that the public would want to pounce on the over, and I expect that’s exactly what they do.

On the flip side, I bet the savvy online sports bettors are much more likely to back the under.

  • Under 24.5 PPG

Kawhi Leonard Under 5 APG

Over 5-125
Under 5-115

I’m aware that Kawhi Leonard was averaging a career-high 5 assists per game in 2019/2020, but I did some digging. “The Klaw” hasn’t eclipsed five assists in a game in 11 straight contests, and Paul George being healthy means opponents can ill-afford to send double teams to Kawhi.

The Clips rank 19th in the league in assists/game, plus Lou Williams is going to have the ball in his hands a ton.

I’m not saying Leonard won’t go off or that he can’t carry the Clippers to an NBA title; I’m just saying I don’t expect him to continue dishing out an average of five assists per game.

  • Under 5 APG

Good Luck Betting NBA Player Props

There is a lot more where these came from. Especially if you head to MyBookie, where they have unveiled an abundance of wagers tied to the NBA restart. In fact, there are all sorts of NBA bets you can place right now that are going to add intrigue to the rest of the season.

Start with these five player props, but don’t be afraid to tack on a few more.
