Natus Vincere Current Form
NaVi came back from the dead in yesterday’s matchup with FaZe. The Russians lost the first round on Mirage and looked to be down and out on Train after FaZe took a huge early lead.
However, s1mple and his teammates rallied and were able to stage one of the greatest comebacks in recent CS:GO history.
They won the second round 16-13 and then turned the match on its head by ousting their opponent on Nuke with the same scoreline.
This means that the world ranking leaders boast a 3-1 record and a win here will ensure they are in the driving seat for an appearance at the grand final.
Fnatic Current Form
The Swedes have proven that they belong at this level. They did lose to underdogs OG but the wins against Astralis and mousesports were a huge achievement.
They swept the Mouz yesterday after terrific performances on both Inferno and Nuke. The second round was particularly impressive as they came away with a 16-7 win.
The team lost the first meeting with NaVi at the tournament but the players have grown in confidence and will be ready to mount a serious challenge here.
Natus Vincere vs. Fnatic Prediction and Pick
NaVi has been put up against the wall in both phases of the tournament but has found the resources to improve and are now looking good value for topping the group and advancing to the finals.
The comeback win against FaZe will do them a world of good after a couple of matches showcased their huge dependence on s1mple. However, every player on the team stepped up yesterday and this bodes well for their chances against Fnatic.
The Swedes can be very dangerous on Inferno, Nuke, and Dust II but the Russians have the edge on the other maps and huge advantage in the head-to-head department.
I’m backing NaVi to come away with a win here. It’s difficult to call whether they will be able to do it quickly as a lot will depend on the first two maps, so I’ll have to hedge my bet and eat up the lower odds.
