MAD Lions vs. Team Spirit Betting Preview With Prediction and Pick – DreamHack Masters, June 8th

After a thrilling BLAST Premier event, the CS:GO elite now turn their attention to the DreamHack Masters’ playoff stage.

The European division will see three Lower Bracket ties take place today and one of them pins MAD Lions against Team Spirit.

The Danes had an eventful BLAST tournament while the Russians haven’t been in action since securing the second spot in Group B of the DreamHack event.

The two organizations haven’t met in a while and in this MAD Lions vs. Team Spirit betting preview for Monday, I try to figure out in which direction will today’s tie tilt.

I analyze how these teams have been faring and share my prediction and a free betting pick based on that and the value which the current betting odds carry.

Let’s start with the prices for the main betting markets. The ones below are courtesy of 10Bet.

The Danes hold a higher spot in the world rankings and have been performing well lately, so it’s no surprise that the top rated CS:GO bookmakers all have them as the favorite.

However, Team Spirit has also been impressive and it will be interesting to see whether they can switch to playoff mode now and make a difference against the real elite teams.

I now proceed with my analysis but be sure to stick around as my prediction is coming in the end.

The Lions started the DreamHack tournament on the slow side as they fell to both BIG and Complexity Gaming in their opening two fixtures.

To their credit, the team rallied in their last group tie against mousesports and handed the German organization a heavy 2:0 defeat with dominant performances on Inferno and Train.

The win breathed confidence into the squad as AcilioN and his guys went to top their group at the BLAST Premier event and made it to one of the European Finals.

However, a spirited performance from ENCE and their new addition Jamppi was too much for the Lions as they registered their first defeat since the DreamHack group stage.

On the bright side, the team has proven they can bounce back quickly and they will definitely need that today as Team Spirit won’t go down without a fight.

The Russian team has definitely improved this season and can now be a genuine competitor at the big events.

Their recent run at the DreamHack Masters includes a solid win against ESL Pro League champions Fnatic and GODSENT, while the high-flying FaZe Clan needed two tiebreaks to beat them.

These results ensured Spirit got their place in the playoffs and the team has every reason to believe that they can overcome MAD Lions today.

Captain chopper has been particularly impressive as both a tactical leader and marksman, and players mir and iDISBALANCE have been racking up elite numbers in the past month.

The problem is that they haven’t had a competitive game since May 30th and this will be a definite disadvantage today.

The Lions were rattled by ENCE on their favorite Mirage and given how well Spirit performs on that map, I doubt the Danes will go for their usual pick today.

The Russians will probably wave Inferno first and then go for either Train or Overpass where they have had a lot of success against the top teams this season.

A lot will depend on whether mir and iDISBALANCE can pick up where they left off but I feel the chemistry and confidence in this group is high enough for them to give MAD Lions a run for their money.

Given that the Danes are coming off from a heavy defeat, I’m not certain they will be in their best shape today against an opponent that can make things very uncomfortable for any organization.

That is why I am leaning towards a three-map game and the odds for the Over 2.5 market make for a great price.
