Here are the betting odds for who is in The Lord of the Rings TV show coming out soon. BetUS offers these odds, which is one of the top entertainment betting sites out there.

So, if you have a hunch for which direction the show goes in and which characters are in it, head to BetUS to place your bets.

At the top of the odds for who is in The Lord of the Rings TV show is Arwen Undomiel. For those who don’t know or need a refresher, Arwen was Aragorn’s wife, the franchise’s main character.

She was an incredibly selfless character that helped others in many different ways. If you thought she was an excellent character, you might wonder, will Arwen Undomiel be in The Lord of the Rings TV show?

Arwen isn’t the only character fans want to see again. Frodo, Legolas, Gandalf, and more could make surprise appearances, which many would be excited about.

If you look at the odds for who will be in The Lord of the Rings TV show cast, you’ll see that a couple of familiar names have good chances of making appearances. Not only is Arwen projected to be in the show, but Legolas, Tom Bombadil, and Balrog all also have even or negative odds.

That means the oddsmakers think there’s a good chance that these characters will be in the upcoming series. Do they make sense as betting options, though? You have to consider the amount of risk when betting on who appears in a TV show.

Why Arwen Undomiel Is Favored to Appear the Most

BetUS offers Arwen (-200) as the most favored option to appear in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, but why? Let’s examine her history to see what would fit the narrative.

Arwen is the daughter of Elrond, the founder and lord of Rivendell, and Celebrian, an Elf of Lothlórien. She is played by Liv Tyler in the movies and makes her first big appearance by saving Frodo after the Black Riders attack him.

That’s just one of the many selfless acts Arwen does in the franchise. She also gave up her immortality to be with her love, Aragorn, leaving her family to be with him while they travel to the Undying Lands.

Let’s back up a second, though; The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power does not take place after the events from the films, but before. Instead, it will be a prequel series focusing on bringing together the major stories of the Second Age of Middle-earth.

Two characters that play a significant role in the upcoming show and have already been revealed in the first teaser are Elrond and Galadriel. Elrond is Arwen’s father, while Galadriel is her grandmother.

Given that Arwen nearly lives to be 3,000 years old, there’s a good chance that she’s born in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power at some point.

The reason why she has the odds furthest in negative territory is because of her connection to the main characters of the show. It’s hard to find stronger connections than a father and grandmother, so Arwen is the favorite for that reason.

The birth of Arwen would make for great TV, so I would say she’s a good betting option to be in The Lord of the Rings TV series cast, even at -200.

Other Characters Likely to Appear in LOTR

Although Arwen makes a solid bet to make it in the cast of the upcoming show, you should also keep in mind that betting on multiple options is possible. For example, you might think Arwen makes it in the cast, but you might be eyeing other choices like Legolas or Frodo.

If you think more than one character on this list will be on the show, there’s a chance you can make some serious cash by the time it premieres. Maybe you could even pay for your Amazon Prime subscription, which is where it will be available.

Let’s look at other characters with negative or even odds from BetUS, one of the best gambling apps.

Legolas (-140)

Orlando Bloom

If you were wondering if Legolas will be in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, you’ll be happy to know that he’s the second-most favored option on the list.

This is because Legolas played a significant role in the first three films and was one of the biggest roles of Orlando Bloom in his early career.

He’s one of the Fellowship’s nine members who sought the destruction of the One Ring. Gimli and Legolas were also best friends in the films.

Some of his abilities include incredible vision with legendary archery skills.

One of the ways we can figure out how likely it is for a character to be in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power cast is to look back on their journeys. For instance, Aragorn was able to live until he was 210 years old since he was a “Man of the West.”

Since the upcoming series is set thousands of years before the original events, there’s no way Aragorn would be in it. If we look at how long Legolas lived for, it’s said to be 2,931 years. That should be more than enough time to be born around the events of The Rings of Power.

Legolas makes a lot of sense to be one of the cast members of the new show, and -140 odds are still profitable enough.

Tom Bombadil (-110)

One of the characters in the original films with an incredibly vague origin is Tom Bombadil. It’s believed that Tom could be one of the oldest living creatures in the entire franchise. If that’s the case, there’s a great chance he’s in The Lord of the Rings TV show cast.

In the first Lord of the Rings movie, The Fellowship of the Ring, Tom helps Frodo on his journey. His first appearance is when Pippin and Merry become trapped in the Old Forest on their journey with Frodo, where Tom spent most of his time.

The One Ring also had no power over him, which adds to his fascinating background. Maybe the Rings of Power can explore that in their five seasons.

The author of the Lord of the Rings books, J. R. R. Tolkien, said, “even in the mythical age, there must be some enigmas,” when talking about Bombadil. That could mean his lack of importance could threaten his chances of being in the show.

I will say that if we are basing our bets on age, Bombadil could be the best option here. Also, because Tolkien didn’t think he was that important doesn’t mean he won’t make an appearance in the upcoming series.

Balrog (EVEN)

The last character on the brink of negative odds is Balrog, the demonic monster that has made several appearances across the franchise. Durin’s Bane is a Balrog creature in the first Lord of the Rings film.

Here’s the time the Balrog and Gandalf had an incredible battle.

There’s another Balrog in the universe called Gothmog, which could align more with the Rings of Power than Durin’s Bane in the Lord of the Rings. The species is one of the main evils of the franchise, giving it a good chance to appear in the upcoming series.

Whether as Gothmog or another Balrog, it makes sense to bet on a version of this demonic creature to be in the new show.

Will Gandalf, Saruman, or Frodo be in the Rings of Power?

The final three betting options we have to be in The Lord of the Rings TV series cast fall into positive odds territory, meaning the chances of them being in the show might be closer to unlikely.

Let’s look at the remaining options to see if they are worth betting on, considering their more profitable odds.

Gandalf (+150)

Will Gandalf be in The Lord of the Rings TV series? The chances might not be what you were hoping for. That said, Gandalf is estimated to be around 24,000 years old. That would mean that he might actually have a good chance of making an appearance here.

Although he is one of the oldest characters, he was only in his physical form for around a twelfth of the time (2,000 years). He is of the Maia species, who are angelic and supernatural.
Gandalf

From the name of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, you can tell that the rings will play a major role, as they usually do. That said, wouldn’t one of the bearers of the Three Rings make sense to be in the new series?

Gandalf possesses Narya, the Ring of Fire, that he got from Círdan, but it isn’t known how he uses its powers.

One of his main missions is seeking his suspicions of Bilbo’s ring, which he suspects is the One Ring from the Dark Lord Sauron. Across his journeys, he accompanies Aragorn in addition to his father, Elrond.

Considering Elrond is already one of the show’s cast members, Gandalf might be one of the better bets to be included as well.

Saruman (+175)

Saruman is a character in the first two films more than in the books. After being sent to challenge Sauron, he ends up wanting Sauron’s power for himself.

Gandalf is a character that knows how much Saruman knows about the Rings of Power, which is a big reason why he desires the power for himself.

Saruman went as far as imprisoning Gandalf in the Orthanc tower so he could try and find the ring. Gandalf saw from there that Saruman was building an army and was a traitor to his once-thought allies.

This makes him one of the antagonists of the story. With Gandalf playing a major role in the franchise, it makes sense to consider his rival Saruman as well.

Something that the directors may not be intrigued about is the ending of Saruman’s story. He could never behold the power he sought, so that it could be a dead end for his character.

Another reason you might want to stay away from Saruman or even Gandalf is that we have already explored many of their stories. Depending on how much the show writers think Saruman is needed is going to play a major role here.

Frodo Baggins (+500)

Another character we have already explored a lot is Frodo Baggins, which makes it hard to include him in our The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power predictions list. As we know from the films, Frodo inherits the One Ring from his cousin Bilbo.

Frodo’s main quest is to destroy the One Ring in the flames of Mount Doom in Mordor. On top of the fact that we have already seen basically all of Frodo’s journey, his not nearly old enough to make it to The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power cast.

He’s projected to be around 50 years old when he inherits the One Ring. But, again, the prequel is set thousands of years before the events in the Lord of the Rings movies. That doesn’t translate to a high chance of Frodo being in the show, which some fans might be sad to hear.

Betting on Who Will Appear in the LOTR TV Show

At the end of the day, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will be a fascinating series and should be very nostalgic for many fans. It’s been two decades since the last Lord of the Rings film and one since The Hobbit.

Now we are going back incredibly far in the history of the stories. There has even been a good number of new characters that were invented specifically for the show, so they will look to become the new favorites.

That will help fill the gap of not seeing your usual heroes and gives us something to be excited about as for who makes the best bet to be in The Lord of the Rings TV show cast, a couple of options make sense.

Arwen’s age and family ties give her the best chances, while Legolas, Bombadil, Balrog, and Gandalf are also viable options. That gives us a lot of characters to be excited about, in addition to seeing some insane visual effects. The Rings of Power is also the most expensive TV show ever made, with over $50 million spent per episode.

If you can’t wait for the premiere (September 2nd, 2022), maybe betting on who is in The Lord of the Rings TV show will help pass the time. Entertainment betting is one of the best ways to gamble for real money online, so make sure you place your bets as soon as possible.
