Lone Star Park Picks for Friday, May 22, 2020 – Free Horse Racing Betting Tips

Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, opens Friday, May 22, 2020, for a 9-race card of thoroughbred racing. Like all the other racecourses in the US, the grandstands are closed to spectators for the time being.
The forecast for Friday in Grand Prairie is scattered thunderstorms, with highs in the low 90s and winds around 14 mph.
While I’m covering the three richest races here, remember that you can find all the Lone Star Park races, including entries, odds, and wager options, at the top horse racing betting sites.
Post time for the first race at Lone Star Park on Friday is 3:05 PM (CDT). Let’s look at my predictions, picks, and tips.
RACE 4
- Post Time: 4:35 PM
- Purse: $35,000
- Type: ALLOWANCE
- Distance: 1 mile
- Conditions: For Three Year Olds Which Have Never Won A Race Other Than Maiden, Claiming, Starter, Or State Bred Allowance Or Which Have Never Won Two Races
Race 4 Runners and Odds Forecast
- 1 Irish Silver, S Risenhoover, 20/1
- 2 Life On the Road, S Elliott, 5/2
- 3 Bring Me a Check, C McMahon, 3/1
- 4 Tick Tack Mo, W De La Cruz, 20/1
- 5 Top Draw, R E Eramia, 2/1
- 6 Icecap, J V Bridgmohan, 5/1
- 7 El Supremo, J Gilligan, 10/1
- 8 Magic Michael, D Sorenson, 15/1
Race 4 Prediction and Pick
I like the 2/1 favorite in this race—Top Draw, ridden by Richard Eramia. This colt has four money finishes out of 6 career starts, and Eramia has the skills to make the win happen.
Race 4 Tip
I think Magic Michael is undervalued at 15/1. This gelding has two money finishes out of six career starts, one of them a win. Just as importantly, his jockey for this race, Danny Sorenson, has a much better recent wins/WPS record than his career stats might suggest.

RACE 6
- Post Time: 5:37 PM
- Purse: $34,000
- Type: MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT
- Distance: 7-1/2 furlongs (turf)
- Conditions: For Maidens, Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward. If deemed inadvisable by management to run this race over the turf course, it will be run on the main track at One Mile
Race 6 Runners and Odds Forecast
- 1 Quick Trip, J Gilligan, 15/1
- 2 Brandons Babe, I V Diego, 10/1
- 3 Grey Halo, E Lara, 30/1
- 4 Visual Magic, W De La Cruz, 2/1
- 5 Iaminteresting, S Risenhoover, 30/1
- 6 Gold Included, J V Bridgmohan, 30/1
- 7 Julia’s Temple, A Contreras, 15/1
- 8 Take Charge Woman, E Valdez-Jiminez, 20/1
- 9 Funny Flowers, R E Eramia, 5/1
- 10 La Vida, D Sorenson, 5/2
- 11 Farmavet, L Wade, 15/1
- 12 Wild Prospect, L S Quinonez, 15/1
Race 6 Prediction and Pick
I have to go with the 2/1 favorite here, Visual Magic, with Walter De La Cruz aboard. This four-year-old filly has five money finishes in seven career starts, and De La Cruz has the veteran chops to put her across the line first.
Race 6 Tip
This is a maiden race, and as such, it’s a Magic 8-Ball race. That said, I think Wild Prospect, at 15/1 moneyline, has a very real chance here—particularly with the piloting of veteran jockey Luis Quinonez.

RACE 9
- Post Time: 7:07 PM
- Purse: $35,000
- Type: ALLOWANCE
- Distance: 7 furlongs
- Conditions: For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward Which Have Never Won A Race Other Than Maiden, Claiming, Starter, Trial Or State Bred Allowance Or Which Have Never Won Two Races
Race 9 Runners and Odds Forecast
- 1 Silver City Trick, L Wade, 20/1
- 2 Lookin Sharp, S Elliott, 10/1
- 3 Bold Legend, M J Luzzi, 30/1
- 4 Spun Line, L J Luzzi, 20/1
- 5 Lil Tater, L S Quinonez, 20/1
- 6 Big Tiny, C McMahon, 20/1
- 7 Final Form, W De La Cruz, 9/5
- 8 Take Charge Gal, D Cabrera, 10/1
- 9 Al Shamkhah, J V Bridgmohan, 12/1
- 10 Lemon Drop Kitty, R E Eramia, 20/1
- 11 Wishful Quality, D P Vergara, 8/1
- 12 True Castle, R A Vazquez, 2/1
Race 9 Prediction and Pick
There are some serious competitors in this race, both four-legged and two. I’m going with the second-favored (2/1) True Castle, with veteran Ramon Vasquez in the irons. This four-year-old filly has moneyed in eight of her 12 career starts, with three wins.
Race 9 Tip
At 10/1, Take Charge Gal, with David Cabrera aboard, is definitely undervalued in this race. She has finished in the money in six of her 15 career starts, with four of those wins. And a jockey like Cabrera could make all the difference.
