Koln vs. Eintracht Frankfurt Betting Preview With Pick – Bundesliga, June 20

This game might have a strange atmosphere surrounding it. Koln can still be relegated, and Frankfurt could still qualify for Europe. But both those outcomes are very remote.

With the added factor of an empty stadium due to games being played behind closed doors, it could have the air of a pre-season friendly. You can find my thoughts on how this one will go below with my Koln vs. Eintracht Frankfurt prediction and betting pick.

Frankfurt is BetOnline’s slight favorite for this one, but there is very little to choose between the two sides. But the home side has done very little since the Bundesliga returned, while the Eagles have been one of the form teams. The odds for the away win look strongest to me.

Koln did its hard work either side of the winter break in its first season back in the top flight and should now be able to enjoy the summer safe in the knowledge that it will be playing at this level for another season at least. Results have not been good since the league resumed, though, and the end of the campaign can probably not come soon enough.

The Billy Goats were completely outplayed in the Rhine derby with Bayer Leverkusen in the week, and the 3-1 scoreline probably doesn’t do the game justice. There is still a mathematical chance that Koln could be dragged into a relegation playoff game, but it should be fine now.

Eintracht Frankfurt might still have hopes of qualifying for the Europa League this season, but that outcome is also a bit of a long shot now. Andre Silva did his best once again in the week, as he scored the opener in the 2-1 win over Schalke at the Commerzbank Arena.

The Portuguese attacker has scored more goals than any other player in the league since the return and has been a major reason why Frankfurt is still involved in the upper reaches of the table rather than sitting rather closer to Koln at the current time. He could be dangerous again on Saturday.

This looks like a good choice for me, as I’m not sure that even Koln thinks it can still be caught by any of the clubs below now. That means that there will be less urgency in the home team’s play at the weekend, and that should allow Frankfurt’s ability to tell. Frankfurt should win this one quite easily.
