I must say that the performance of the Samsung Lions has been among the unpleasant surprises of the KBO up to this point. The team did ok in the preseason but the first three official games have been a disaster and the inability to find runs is a real problem.

The pitchers haven’t been stellar either and it doesn’t look good right now. The experience of KIA Tigers was similar after the first two games, but the impressive 8-5 victory on Thursday should lift the spirit of the team without a doubt.

It came against a strong opponent like the Kiwoom Heroes too, so I believe that the confidence of Tigers will be high for the next clash.

You probably know what my KIA Tigers vs. Samsung Predictions is going to be at this point. I’m backing the team that has shown more in the KBO, so it has to be the Tigers. One strong win against Kiwoom and another tight game is better than the humiliating performance of the Lions.

I would also like to note that we might see some runs in this one. The pitchers of both teams have been far from impressive and that could open a door for plenty of opportunities.

Betting that this game goes over the projected run total has plenty of merit. The major qualm is that the Lions offense simply can’t be trusted at this time. Seriously, five total runs and a .138 clip at the plate thus far – no thanks.

For that reason, let’s roll with the Tigers. KIA’s five-run burst in the 8th inning on Thursday propelled them to their first victory of the season, and it could be the catalyst that gets their offense on track.
