The opening KBO games this week saw plenty of runs and it was a feast for the neutral fans. The same series continue on Wednesday, so we might witness more action between the same teams in round 55 of the elite South Korean baseball competition.
My KBO predictions for July 8th include my analysis of all games scheduled for the day. They don’t cover recommended prices or specific betting picks, though, because the odds of the best sites are yet to come up at the moment I’m writing my analysis. And yet, they might be out there when you’re reading this article, so feel free to check some of our recommended baseball bookmakers online.
And here are all games that I’ve included for my KBO predictions for Wednesday.
KT Wiz Suwon vs. KIA Tigers
LG Twins vs. Doosan Bears
Lotte Giants vs. Hanwha Eagles
NC Dinos vs. SK Wyverns
Samsung Lions vs. Kiwoom Heroes
KT Wiz Suwon to Beat KIA Tigers
I expected a win in the opener in favor of Suwon but I thought it would be close. KT Wiz proved me wrong by crushing the opponent despite a slow start. The Tigers opened the first inning with a 2-0 lead and didn’t score a single run for the rest of the game.
Suwon’s expert pitching complemented by a strong performance in the batting department was enough for a comfortable 8-2 victory. In theory, it should be much closer on Wednesday, but I still feel obliged to back KT Wiz Suwon for my KBO predictions after what happened in game one.
Doosan Bears to Beat LG Twins
The 9-6 victory in favor of the Bears was among the most entertaining KBO games on Tuesday. The reigning champions displayed a lot of firepower, but the Twins had a lot of good moments too. Both teams can’t pitch well right now, so that adds a lot of chaos to their games.
I believe that the Bears have a better team for such conditions and we saw that clearly in the opening match. That’s why I’m more inclined to trust Doosan in the second one too, but I wouldn’t bet my house on it.
Lotte Giants to Beat Hanwha Eagles
I expected a rather comfortable victory for Lotte in the opening game, but the Eagles showed that their solid performance against the Bears in the previous series is no coincidence. They were in the lead for most of the game, but the Giants came back with three late runs to force extra innings.
They went ahead twice, but the Hanwha Eagles struck back and eventually secured a 7-6 win. I believe that the Giants should be able to bounce back and they looked dangerous for large periods of the game, but the momentum is with the Eagles, so this one should be close.
NC Dinos to Beat SK Wyverns
If you watched the first game between the Dinos and the Wyverns, you probably felt that NC was really lucky to win this one and all stats confirm that view. And yet, close victories like this one are the main reason why the Dinos are leading the KBO standings.
The team can win ugly and often does that against weaker teams like SK. The Wyverns were strong in the final inning and kept it close, but they simply don’t have the quality to dominate an opponent like the Dinos.
Unless the KBO leaders perform well below their standards, they should be able to win again on Wednesday.
Samsung Lions to Beat Kiwoom Heroes
The Lions might be the best team in the KBO right now and their good run continued in the opener against another strong side. The devastating 13-2 victory over the second-placed Kiwoom Heroes was a statement of intent.
I don’t think that the gap in the second game will be that wide, but the Lions certainly have the momentum going forward. Their confidence is on another level and they are simply flying nowadays, so I won’t be surprised to see another victory.
And yet, the Kiwoom Heroes are dangerous and have the means to bounce back, so stay careful with this one.
