KBO Predictions for Wednesday, July 15 (Round 62)

| July 14, 2020 6:19 am PDT

I must admit I was surprised by many of the KBO games on Tuesday. The series started with some convincing wins in encounters that looked tight on paper. It’s interesting to see if this trend continues on Wednesday and I share my expectations in this post with KBO predictions.

They include short analysis and projected outcomes of all games, but there are no odds or recommended picks. The reason is that the sportsbooks are yet to release their lines at the moment I’m writing this.

They might be up when you’re reading, though, so don’t hesitate to check the best baseball betting sites below for more info.

And here are all games that are included in my KBO predictions for Wednesday.

  • Hanwha Eagles vs. KT Wiz Suwon
  • KIA Tigers vs. Samsung Lions
  • LG Twins vs. Lotte Giants
  • NC Dinos vs. Kiwoom Heroes
  • SK Wyverns vs. Doosan Bears

KT Wiz Suwon to Beat Hanwha Eagles

The opening game between KT Wiz and the Eagles went according to the expectations. Suwon dominated for most of the match and won by 7-2 with half an inning to spare. Hanwha’s pitches were hopeless and I see no reason for that to change.

KT Wiz Suwon is on a hot streak right now and the target is to get into the playoff positions. The Eagles can’t stop the opponent at the moment, so a second victory on Wednesday is the outcome that makes the most sense.

Samsung Lions to Beat KIA Tigers

I expected a close battle with plenty of runs in the opening game of this series. Instead, Samsung completely suffocated the opposition and didn’t allow a single run. It was a disappointing performance by the Tigers who looked unstoppable against the Heroes last week.

I’m not sure how this defeat will affect KIA’s confidence and it’s hard to trust the team after such a failure. That’s why I feel obliged to back the Samsung Lions in my KBO Predictions for Wednesday.

Lotte Giants to Beat LG Twins

Game one of the series was completely one-sided and the Lotte Giants didn’t leave their opponents any chance. The team scored five runs, allowing zero against the Twins. LG only had two hits for the whole clash and looked toothless.

The batting has to improve dramatically or the team will suffer in the upcoming games too. I expect a closer encounter on Wednesday, but I still like Lotte’s chances to win more. The team has found some momentum and a struggling opponent like the Twins should be viewed as more than beatable.

NC Dinos to Beat Kiwoom Heroes

Another team that underachieved on Tuesday is NC Dinos. The KBO leaders failed to threaten the Kiwoom Heroes and their pitching was below par. That’s a concern for a team that heavily relies on suffocating the opposition to win games.

It was the other way around in the series opener and the big question if the Dinos can improve enough to turn it around so soon. I would normally say no, but this team is leading the competition for a reason and the Heroes have been inconsistent in the past week or so.

I expect much better from the Dinos on Wednesday and I think we will see one of their trademark close victories.

Doosan Bears to Beat SK Wyverns

If someone told me that one of these teams would score more than 10 runs in game one of the series, I would’ve instantly thought it would be the Doosan Bears. The reigning KBO champions were leading the game after the first five innings, but the Wyverns struck hard after that.

They scored three runs in the sixth and another six in the seventh to demolish the opponent. Doosan was done and dusted after that and found no response. It was a shocking display by the favorite, but it wasn’t the first in the 2020 season.

On the bright side, the Bears usually bounce back immediately after such defeats and that’s exactly what I expect on Wednesday.
