KBO Predictions for Wednesday, August 12 (Round 86)

| August 11, 2020 7:20 am PDT

Tuesday’s KBO games were very prolific in terms of runs and the neutral baseball fans certainly enjoyed them. The same series continue with a second clash on Wednesday, so there’s potential for more action on August 12th.

I share my thoughts on all games in the KBO predictions below. Each of them comes with a short analysis, but there are no odds or recommended picks. That’s because the lines of the leading baseball betting sites are not yet available at the moment I’m writing this.

They might be up when you’re reading the blog post, so make sure to check the top KBO sportsbooks to see if they offer prices.

Here’s a complete list of the games covered in my KBO predictions for Wednesday.

  • Hanwha Eagles vs. Kiwoom Heroes
  • SK Wyverns vs. KT Wiz Suwon
  • KIA Tigers vs. LG Twins
  • NC Dinos vs. Lotte Giants
  • Doosan Bears vs. Samsung Lions

Hanwha Eagles vs. Kiwoom Heroes

I expected an easy win for the Heroes in the opening game of the series against the Eagles, but I was wrong. Kiwoom took an early 5-1 lead and looked strong, but the opponent hit five runs in the sixth inning to level the score.

There were no more runs by the end of the ninth, so the game had to go in extra innings. The drought continued for a while, until the Eagles scored twice to earn the victory. It was a true shocker that was only possible because Kiwoom underestimated the opposition.

I believe that the Heroes have learned their lesson after the struggles in the opener and I expect them to win with ease in game two of the series.

KT Wiz Suwon to Beat the SK Wyverns

KT Wiz Suwon is involved in a tough battle for the KBO playoffs, so the series against the Wyverns are crucial. SK has been abysmal lately and KT Wiz has an excellent opportunity to get three easy and precious victories.

The first game went according to the plan and the Wyverns were no match for Suwon. I expect more of the same on Wednesday and the second clash should bring another comfortable victory for the favorite, mostly because the Wyverns can’t pitch to save their lives right now.

KIA Tigers to Beat LG Twins

The Twins are among the most inconsistent teams in the KBO and you never know what to expect. They looked excellent a week ago, but conceded three defeats in a row. While losing against the Kiwoom Heroes twice wasn’t a big shocker, the 8-4 defeat versus the Tigers on Tuesday was unexpected.

LG conceded six runs in the seventh inning which was the main reason behind the loss, but that wasn’t the only issue. The Twins struggled on the offensive end and only scored a couple of runs at the end, when the game was basically over.

That’s why I’m backing the Tigers to win game two on Wednesday. It should be closer than the opener, but I don’t trust LG right now.

NC Dinos to Beat Lotte Giants

The opening game of the series was postponed because of the weather, so we didn’t have the chance to watch the two sides in action on Tuesday. Let’s hope they manage to return on Tuesday and I believe that the NC Dinos will be eager to get back on the field.

The KBO leaders looked fearsome in their last fixture versus the KIA Tigers and they will be eager to cement their position in the standings.

It won’t be easy against the in-form Giants, but the Dinos are very efficient at finding different angles and exploiting them.

Doosan Bears vs. Samsung Lions

The Doosan Bears were more efficient for the first seven innings and were leading by 4-1 before the rain delayed the game. Both sides returned to finish the clash and the KBO champions continued in the same mood to close the clash by 6-1.

The scoreline suggests it was a one-sided affair, but the Lions had plenty of opportunities to find more runs before the pause. I believe they can bounce back in the second game, but it will be close. I wouldn’t recommend betting big on this one.
