KBO Predictions for Thursday, June 4 (Round 27)
The current KBO series end on Thursday and some teams have one last chance to register a victory before moving on to the next opponent. I explore their performance so far and share my KBO predictions for all games from round 27 of the leading baseball competition in South Korea.
They don’t include betting odds or picks because the lines of the bookmakers are not up yet at the time this article is being written. That could be different at the moment you’re reading it, so make sure to check the following sites for the latest prices.
Also, here are the games I cover in my KBO predictions for Thursday, June 4.
- Lotte Giants vs. KIA Tigers
- Doosan Bears vs. KT Wiz Suwon
- SK Wyverns vs. NC Dinos
- Samsung Lions vs. LG Twins
- Kiwoom Heroes vs. Hanwha Eagles
KIA Tigers to Beat Lotte Giants
I really expected more from Lotte in the series against KIA and I’m disappointed that the Giants lost both games so far. And while it’s true that the Tigers once again had a short burst that brought 7 runs in the fifth inning of the second game, the writing as on the wall even before that.
Lotte’s batting in this duel has been abysmal and the less said about the pitching, the better. The Giants look like shadows of themselves and it’s hard to expect something different on Thursday. All the momentum is with the Tigers who are enjoying every minute of it and I simply can’t go against them.
KT Wiz Suwon to Beat Doosan Bears
I got the first two games of this series right, but I’m not exactly sure what to expect from the third one. KT Wiz Suwon looked better in the second part of the opening match and carried the momentum to the second game which was enough for a comfortable 7-2 victory.
And yet, the Doosan Bears have the habit of bouncing back immediately after losing heavily so far in the KBO. I think it will be different this time around, though, because Suwon has shown more consistency in the past 10 days or so.
The pitchers of KT Wiz have proven that they can cope with the opponent and that should provide a solid platform for another win on Thursday.
NC Dinos to Beat SK Wyverns
Despite some late struggles, the Dinos managed to win against the Wyverns on Wednesday. That’s what I expected from the leaders in my KBO predictions for the round and I think we will see more of the same on Thursday.
NC has been the most consistent team in South Korea and despite the recent problems with their pitching, the Dinos remain a formidable foe. The rejuvenated Wyverns won’t go down without a fight, though, so we should see some runs in this one.
LG Twins to Beat Samsung Lions
After picking the Twins twice so far, only to see them lose on both occasions, one could assume I will quit on the team. And yet, I still think that LG should be able to win one game in this series against Samsung.
The Lions have enjoyed a lot of runs and some excellent batting highlights, but their pitching remains vulnerable. That should open the door for the LG Twins on Thursday once again and this time around, I think they will take full advantage of the opponent’s weaknesses.
Kiwoom Heroes to Beat Hanwha Eagles
There’s not much to say about the last of my KBO predictions for Thursday. I backed the Kiwoom Heroes twice and they delivered against the Eagles. The gap between both sides is too big right now and the third game shouldn’t be much different.
The Eagles simply can’t stop the opposition’s batting unit right now, so it could even get ugly in the final match of the series.
