KBO Predictions for Sunday, June 14 (Round 36)

The weather was once again a problem for the KBO on Saturday and the game between the Hanwha Eagles and the Doosan Bears was interrupted. The other highlight of the day was the astonishing performance of the Kiwoom Heroes against the league leaders NC.

It was a crushing blow in a day that saw plenty of close games. It’s interesting to see how the final encounters of the series play out and I share my analysis in these KBO predictions for Sunday. They don’t include odds, as the bookmakers haven’t released their lines at the time I’m writing this.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the full list of games covered by my KBO predictions for June 14^th.

The Tigers won the opening two games against the Wyverns, but it has been close. Efficiency on the batting end has made the difference on both occasions and while SK has stayed close, the team has failed to deliver in the crucial moments.

It’s hard to expect any different, as KIA’s pitching has been very consistent and I believe that the Tigers will be confident in their chances to add a third win on Sunday. Unless the Wyverns can find some spark, my prediction is for another narrow victory in favor of the KIA Tigers.

The Samsung Lions won the early game on Saturday, but Suwon then prevailed in the second encounter on the same day. It’s has been a back-and-forth tie that should be close on Sunday too. Both sides had their ups and downs so far with their pitching and that makes the game hard to predict.

Suwon looks like the more efficient team at times, but the Lions have been slightly more consistent. That’s why I’m going for Samsung to win the third match of the series, but it’s going to be close.

After losing the opening game of the series, the Giants managed to bounce back and snatch the second clash. The score of 7-6 is an accurate reflection of the flow of the game, as it was as close as it gets by the very last inning.

It’s hard to predict what’s going to happen on Sunday, but my overall impression is that Lotte has shown more over the course of the first two games, so I’m going for the Giants once again. They have been batting better and that could be the key to success.

The second game of the series was initially delayed and then interrupted in the middle of the third inning. It hasn’t been restarted at the moment I’m writing this and I assume it won’t be on Saturday. That’s a shame for the Eagles who actually had a good start, scoring three runs.

Still, the Bears had one more and I think the underdog was eventually going to lose. Hanwha simply can’t cope with the rest of the KBO right now and that’s why I’m going with Doosan for the next match too.

The Heroes went nuts on Saturday and produced one of the most impressive performances since the start of the KBO. They scored 18 runs against the NC Dinos and looked dangerous every single time it was their turn to bat.

The humiliation should lift the league leaders on Sunday and I expect a different face of the Dinos. Bouncing back after such a defeat is a matter of pride which is the main reason I’m backing NC for the final clash of the series.
