KBO Predictions for Friday, May 15 (Round 10)

The first nine rounds of the South Korean KBO are now finished and each team has faced three opponents which tells us a lot more about their form. The next series starts this Friday and my KBO predictions cover all games that are about to take place.

The Eagles finally got their win over the Tigers from the third attempt and that should boost the team’s confidence. The problem is that the next opponent is much better and it’s hard to see how Hanhwa can beat Lotte.

The Giants can score for fun and while their pitching is not on the same level, I don’t think that the Eagles have the means to punish them. The favorite should enjoy a comfortable series and I can confidently start my KBO predictions by backing Lotte here.

I’ve picked the NC Dinos three times in a row in my KBO predictions and they delivered every time, but it was far from easy. The team’s pitching has been the key to success, while finding runs has been an issue.

On the bright side, the next opponent is way below average in both categories. The Wyverns look like one of the worst teams in the KBO up to this point and they desperately need to improve.

The team’s losing streak will likely continue on Friday, as I simply can’t see a scenario that leads to a victory.

The Doosan Bears are the best batting team in South Korea right now and registered two victories and one defeat against the strong Lotte Giants this week. The champions found at least seven runs in every single game of the series and that spells trouble for their next opponent.

The Tigers are among the worst teams in the KBO and while their pitching has been decent at times, I don’t think they have any chance of stopping the Bears. If you add the mediocre batting of the underdog, this one should be an easy victory for Doosan.

The Samsung Lions improved dramatically this week and registered two victories over the Kiwoom Heroes. The pitching has been decent for the side since day one, but the batting is where the major difference came on Wednesday and Thursday.

The team seems ready to record a winning streak against KT Wiz and I’m not sure the team from Suwon can stop them. That’s the second-worst team in the KBO right now and the stats show problems in pretty much every important area.

I still feel reluctant to trust the Lions too much with my KBO predictions, but they should be able to close this one rather comfortably.

The Kiwoom Heroes enjoyed a strong start in the KBO, but their recent series against the Lions suggests that the good days are now over. The team struggled to find enough runs and failed to contain the opponent which resulted in two consecutive defeats on Wednesday and Thursday.

I believe that the solid Twins have the means to punish the opponent’s weak sides in the upcoming days. LG has quietly earned five victories so far and it’s a team that finds ways to get the job done. I think that’s exactly what will happen on Friday and while I don’t think it will be easy, I back the Twins in this one.
