KBO Predictions for Friday, June 19 (Round 40)

The close battles in the top baseball league continued on Thursday and even the Hanwha Eagles put up a fight this time around. The latest series are now over and it’s time for the teams to move on to a new opponent on Friday.

I share my KBO predictions on all games from round 40 of the competition. There are no recommended prices and betting picks included because the odds of the bookmakers are still not available while I’m writing this.

Let’s take a look at all games I cover in my KBO predictions for Friday, June 19^th.

The NC Dinos have struggled lately in the league and the next series might be just what the doctor ordered. The KBO leaders will have the chance to face the worst team in the country which is an excellent opportunity to start a winning run.

The Eagles have been serving as a punching bag recently and despite a rather improved performance in the third game against the Twins on Thursday, I still don’t see how they could take anything from the upcoming series.

I expect three wins for the Dinos here and the first one should come in the opener on Friday.

Both teams were part of a long and gruesome series already this week and the one ahead won’t be too different. The matchup will be a classic clash of styles, with KT Wiz Suwon relying mostly on strong batting, while the Giants have won most of their victories thanks to solid pitching.

I expect three back-and-forth games in the upcoming days, but I do have a favorite for the opener. KT Wiz Suwon won three narrow matches against the Wyverns this week already and has been able to keep composure when it matters the most. This is enough for me to back Suwon in my KBO predictions for round 40.

After four defeats in the last five games, it’s hard to trust the Doosan Bears right now. They have been below-par recently and their pitching has been a problem. When the batting is not there to cover, the situation simply doesn’t look good.

The reigning KBO champions face a strong opponent the Twins next and that spells trouble. LG’s pitchers have been excellent this season and the team can certainly score runs. I believe that the Twins can win at least two games from the upcoming series, including the opener on Friday.

The series between the Heroes and the Wyverns won’t be easy to predict, because SK has improved in the past couple of weeks. Kiwoom should still enter the clash with confidence and the team certainly has been better overall since the start of the season.

If you add the fact that the Wyverns just lost three close games against Suwon, I believe that the Heroes have a good chance of starting the series with a victory on Friday.

The last of my KBO predictions is for another close series that should see victories in favor of both sides by the end of this week. The KIA Tigers beat the league leaders twice in the past couple of days and should have a lot of momentum going forward.

And yet, the Lions did the same against the Doosan Bears and they have been pushing hard to reach the top half of the table recently. Their ability to shut down the opposition is the main reason I’m backing Samsung in the opener, but it should be a tight match.
