KBO Predictions and Analysis for Round 5, May 9, 2020

The KBO continues on Saturday and the South Korean baseball league already won many admirers. The competition is a lot of fun and opens the door to many betting opportunities which are hard to find nowadays.

It’s time for round five and I share my KBO predictions for Saturday, May 9. All games are included here and the goal is to explain my general thoughts without going into too many details. You can always check one of the individual previews below for more information, key stats, and betting picks for Round 5 of the KBO.

I don’t think that many people saw the first game of this series coming and I must admit I wasn’t among them! KT Wiz completely destroyed the champions and it all came from the explosive fifth inning. The Bears seemed in control up to this point, but six unanswered runs shocked them completely.

They didn’t manage to recover by the end of the game and the final score was 12-3 in favor of KT Wiz Suwon! The team will certainly have a lot of confidence going into Saturday’s encounter, but let’s not forget that LG beat Doosan in the opening game too.

The Bears responded in style to edge the next two meetings and I have the feeling we might see a similar scenario. That’s why the first of my KBO predictions for Saturday is for a narrow win in favor of Doosan.

I expected a win for the Kiwoom Heroes in the first game of the series against the Eagles and the team delivered a 5-3 victory. The pitchers stayed focused for most of the encounter and it’s obvious that they’ve learned the six-run inning that failed them against the Tigers.

Hanhwa had a good moment scoring three to make it close in the seventh inning, but that wasn’t enough. I think that the Heroes were slightly nervous after that defeat against KIA, but they should be better on Saturday.

Another victory is one the cards here and it should be more convincing this time around.

In my KBO predictions for the first game of the series, I mentioned that I expected a lot of runs and a win by the Lotte Giants, with my only concern being the team’s defense. Well, it almost cost them as the Wyverns were ahead for most of the game.

A late surge by the Giants forced an extra inning and a single run there was enough for the victory. And yet, I believe that the Wyverns are showing signs of progress and will be able to control the next clash better.

That should result in a victory of their favor and I’m backing them this time around.

The result in the first game between those two was exactly what I expected but the way we got there surprised me! It was a tight affair that saw only one run for each team in the first four innings. That’s when the Dinos scored twelve in the next three!

The Twins responded with a couple of their own that weren’t nearly enough, though. The margin was probably too big at the end but I still think that the Dinos are the better side and another victory is the most logical outcome on Saturday.

The KIA Tigers proved how inconsistent they are on Friday. The team was limited to zero runs by the Samsung Lions and lost 0-5. The game wasn’t as one-sided as the score suggests, though. The winners had only six hits and that shows that their problems are far from over.

I believe that the Tigers can turn this around on Saturday and get a win in the series. They have the potential to be better in almost every aspect and even a slight improvement might be enough against the struggling Lions.
