KBO Daily Fantasy Baseball – Best Plays, Top Values and Lineup Advice For Friday, May 15

KBO DFS Picks May 15th

If you were seeking KBO DFS advice yesterday and landed on our page, you may have done quite well on Thursday morning.

Our top pitcher was absolute gold, while several of our top hitters and some KBO DFS sleepers we vouched for did well. Doosan was again our favorite stack and they also did a solid job.

It was a good list of KBO DFS picks, but I personally didn’t win much thanks to ancillary plays being subpar. It was a weird, pitcher-friendly slate on Thursday, but hopefully the bats can heat up on Friday.

Here’s where I’m looking for Friday morning’s best KBO DFS plays.

Friday’s Top Pitchers to Target

  • Jae Hak Lee – NCD ($9.7k)
  • Hui Kwan Yu – DOO ($9.2k)
  • Casey Kelly – LG ($8k)

This does not look like an amazing slate for pitching, but we can start with Hak Lee, who is pitching for the best team in the KBO right now. He was good in his 2020 debut and was also very solid overall in 2019.

Hak Lee looks like a fine play going up against a weak SK squad. He very well may be the top pitcher on the board and could be worth paying up for, even if he ends up being chalky.

Casey Kelly is another guy I like, for three reasons; he was really good in 2019 (2.55 ERA), he was awful in his 2020 debut and he has a tough matchup. The first part is encouraging and the other two tidbits suggest his ownership could be way down.

Hui Kwan Yu was good in 2019 and pitches for Doosan, so he’s a solid bet to do well and get a win.

Best Hitters to Roster on 5/15

  • Eui Ji Yang, C, NCD ($5k)
  • Jose Fernandez, 1B, DOO ($6.3k)
  • Min Woo Park, 2B, NCD ($4.2k)
  • Suk Min Park, 3B, NCD ($4.5k)
  • Sun Bin Kim, SS, KIA ($3.8k)
  • Jae Hwan Kim, OF, DOO ($5.3k)

Yang is the top catcher, but he’s yet to really play like it. I won’t fault you for seeking more value at the position, but he’s hitting the ball decently and is due to launch one.

Fernandez is crazy expensive, but the guy gets multiple hits seemingly every game and can hit dongs. He’s a staple of my KBO DFS lineups, now and forever.

Of course, if you want to stick with the Doosan stack and need savings, you can drop to teammate Jae Il Oh ($4.5k), who is on fire right now.

Min Park and Woo Park are just really nice values for guys who hit the ball incredibly well. I also like Bin Kim, even though he’s going up against Doosan.

Speaking of Doosan, it’s only fitting I’d cap things off with one of their best bats. Hwan Kim is just wrecking these days (.419 BA, 4 HR, 14 RBI) and I can’t envision a scenario where I fade him.

KBO DFS Sleepers to Use on 5/15

  • Hyeong Jun So, SP, KT ($6k)
  • Jin Sung Kang, C, NCD ($2.2k)
  • Roberto Ramos, 1B, LG ($2.9k)
  • Chi Hong An, 2B, LOT ($2.9k)
  • Jin Hyuk No, 3B, NCD ($3.2k)
  • Jae Ho Kim, SS, DOO ($2.3k)
  • Eun Sung Chae, OF, LG ($2.5k)

I am very interested in Jun So, who is only 18 and obviously is a guy the KBO isn’t used to. He looked good in his debut, is cheap and has a really nice matchup in front of him.

I am loving the idea of punting catcher, assuming Sung Kang starts. He’s on a great offense, he’s crazy cheap and he is smoking the ball (.667 and 2 HR) so far.

Ramos is forever way too cheap. He has fantastic power and is hitting .419 right now. There is no reason to fade him until he starts struggling.

Hong An is at a pretty busy position with a lot of options to consider, but he’s cheap and red hot at the moment. He’s generated 14+ fantasy points in four of his last outings and may not cool down just yet.

It’s easy to fall in love with NC Dinos sticks and Hyuk No is one of them. He’s donged twice and has a sweet .345 batting average.

Doosan stacks win the day, so I’ll keep rolling Jae Ho Kim out there if he’s starting. He’s very cheap for a guy who has a lot of good players around him, while he’s on fire with a .387 batting average.

Lastly, you can save big at OF if you go down to Sung Chae, who is hitting a solid .290. He’s historically a very good contact bat and even has a little pop (25 homers in 2018).

My Favorite KBO DFS Lineup For Friday

  • SP: Jae Hak Lee – NCD ($9.7k)
  • SP: Hyeong Jun So – KT ($6k)
  • C: Jin Sung Kang – NCD ($2.2k)
  • 1B: Jae Il Oh – DOO ($4.5k)
  • 2B: Jose Fernandez – DOO ($6.3k)
  • 3B: Jin Hyuk No – NCD ($3.2k)
  • SS: Jae Ho Kim – DOO ($2.3k)
  • OF: Jae Hwan Kim – DOO ($5.3k)
  • OF: Mel Rojas Jr. – KT ($6.2k)
  • OF: Jung Hoo Lee – KIW ($4.3k)

Pitching seems fairly straight forward. I want So due to value, matchup and upside. I’ll pay for Lee and hopefully others won’t. It’s a great pairing on paper and it has serious potential.

I can still afford a Doosan stack. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it, right?

I’m using some of my favorite KBO DFS sleepers here and closing things out with Mel Rojas and Hoo Lee.

Rojas is about the same price as Jamie Romak, who probably will garner more ownership. That, or most will pay for Jose Fernandez and opt against getting a second guy priced over $6k.

Fading Roberto Ramos is a calculated move. I love him, but he’s sure to garner a lot of ownership. This team has a lot of chalky, but it should be contrarian in enough spots to give you a shot if the chalk hits.
