Only one team – LLB Academic – can catch the hosts now and even a point here could be enough to ensure its top flight safety.

Kayanza United is heavily fancied to take all three points here and it is not difficult to see why the bookmakers would think that. Les Lierres is already condemned to second tier soccer next season and has won just one game since the turn of the year.

Even the odds for a draw don’t look big enough for any real interest.

Kayanza United’s recent record of two points in the last four games has given it some extra relegation worries, but three of those fixtures were away from home against other sides scrambling around in the mid table of the Burundi Premier League.

The draw with Flambeau de Centre last week may have seen the home side drop to 13^th in the table but it should not need to get anything from its final day game with LLB Academic to stay up. The points from Saturday’s game with Les Lierres should be enough.

That’s because Les Lierres has been simply woeful over the last few months. It is almost as though relegation was considered a certainty, even back in February. There have been six consecutive defeats now and even though the team is still at least scoring some goals, there has not been enough fight to suggest it can really pick up another point this season.

For a campaign that started so brightly – with seven points from its first four games – things have gone downhill very quickly and the most porous defense in the league has not helped Les Lierres get out of its current predicament.

The odds are not attractive in any way, but there is no way that Kayanza United will not win this game. Les Lierres is already down and the home side still needs a few points to ensure its own top flight status next season.

It could be that including this game as a sure fire selection in a parlay wager is a better option that going for the single bet.
