Isloch vs. Torpedo Bel-AZ Zhodino Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, June 20

Although both of these two clubs have fallen away from the top slightly in the last few weeks, the Belarusian Premier League is so tight that a win here would catapult the victor right back into the mix.

Torpedo has looked the better of the two this season, but Isloch has consistently punched above its weight and will fancy its chances too. Read on for my full Isloch vs. Torpedo Bel-AZ Zhodino prediction and betting pick.

BetOnline has this game very evenly balanced with Torpedo’s position in the league probably the main reason behind it handing the visiting side the favorites tag. This should be a very close game, though, and with little to choose between the clubs, the draw bet might be the way to go.

Isloch has dropped down the table recently, but that was really due to a very tough set of fixtures that included both BATE and Energetik-BGU. The last two games have seen a draw with Rukh Brest and then a victory over FC Minsk last weekend. Another three points here would see the club back in the upper reaches.

It was only a Dmitri Komarovski penalty that gave Isloch the win away at FC Minsk, and it might be that inability to really put away the weaker sides in the division that will end up holding Isloch back. In all honesty, it is probably more of a mid-table club, and that is where it should finish this season.

Torpedo, on the other hand, will be harboring aspirations of European qualification this season. Since coming up to the top flight almost 20 years ago, the Zhodino club has never finished higher than fourth but has been circling the top three for the last few years and will feel as if it can make a push this season.

That’s why the loss to Dynamo Brest last week will be such a bitter disappointment for Torpedo. Obviously, the reigning champions are no pushovers, but Dynamo has not been the same team as last year, and manager Yuri Puntas will have hoped to take all three points at home.

Unless one of these two returns to the form that they were showing a month or so ago, there is a really good chance that they could cancel each other out on Saturday. There is enough talent in both squads to make a good case for a win for either, but I feel that a draw is a more likely outcome at the current time.
