Incheon United vs. Daegu FC Betting Preview With Prediction and Pick – K-League 1, May 9
This game will be a good test of how far Daegu has come over the past few seasons, as it kicks off the new campaign with a trip to Incheon. The hosts will also be looking to improve this year and aim for a top-half finish.
There have been some key departures and arrivals at both clubs, so it might be a case of which team gels the quickest as to who wins here.

Incheon United vs. Daegu FC Odds
Daegu has been made the favorite to win this by BetOnline, but it is a close-run thing with little to choose between the two sides or the draw. Taking last season’s performances as an indication, I would say that the odds for a Daegu win actually look quite good, although the draw could be the value bet here.
Incheon will once again look to Montenegrin striker Stefan Mugosa for goals this season as it looks to improve on last year’s 10th-place finish and break into that top half for the conclusion of the campaign. It is over ten years since the club finished that high, however, so he will need to be on top of his game.
Young midfielder Kim Joon-beom, who joined the club in the offseason, will need to hit the ground running but does look like being a very important part of the Incheon play this season. It was a close-run thing escaping relegation last year, so some early victories would definitely ease the nerves.
But it is Daegu that is the club that is attracting a lot of attention here. The club only returned from a spell in K-League 2 four years ago but has been steadily improving every year and managed to end up in fifth at the end of last season. Important players such as Cesinha have remained at the club, and there is the possibility that Daegu might be able to break into the AFC Champions League spots in 2020.
One major blow is the loss of South Korea keeper Jo Hyeon-woo to Ulsan, though. He understandably wanted to play at a bigger club — potentially in Europe — but has remained in South Korea with Ulsan Hyundai. He was a big part of Daegu’s success over the last few years and will be sorely missed.
Incheon United vs. Daegu FC Prediction and Pick
Daegu FC to Win+136
If Jo Hyeon-woo’s replacement can inspire confidence in the Daegu players and fans, then this is a team that could do well this year and start off with a win in Incheon. The arrival of veteran striker Dejan Damjanovic from Suwon could be a big difference, too. He might have more of a role in this game than his Montenegrin compatriot, Stefan Mugosa, and fire Daegu on to a first victory of the season.
