HomeSweetHome Predictions and Betting Tips - Wk 2, Group D (April 17)

The first three groups of Week 2 of #HomeSweetHome are done, and we only have Group D left before we move on to the playoffs of the competition. I go through the schedule and the teams involved in this post before moving on to individual previews of each match.

The goal of this Group D betting preview is to find the best bets, and I cover all rounds. Initially, you will only see my HomeSweetHome predictions for the opening matches. The rest will be added later, shortly after we know the first results and the latest betting odds are released.

Group D Preview for Week 2 – Teams and Schedule

Let’s take a look at the teams that will be part of #HomeSweetHome Group D on Week 2 of the tournament.

  • Copenhagen Flames
  • Endpoint
  • Gambit Youngsters

I believe this might be the closest group in the second stage of the competition. Endpoint and SKADE both reached the playoffs in the opening week, while Gambit Youngsters beat once and pushed them to the limit in the decider.

If you add Copenhagen Flames that are coming back from Flashpoint Season 1, there’s going to be a lot of action today. Here’s the schedule.

Opening Matches

  • Gambit Youngsters vs. Copenhagen Flames – 4:50 am Pacific time
  • SKADE vs. Endpoint – 6:20 am Pacific time

Winner’s Match

  • Winner match A vs. Winner match B – 7:50 am Pacific time

Elimination Match

  • Loser match A vs. Loser match B – 10:50 am Pacific time

Decider Match

  • Loser Winner’s match v. Winner Elimination match – 1:50 pm Pacific time

The first round is in the best-of-one format, but the next matches are in the best-of-three format.

Group D Predictions and Betting Picks for Week 2

This is where I will share my Group D betting tips for every match. Remember, you will only see the opening encounters at first, and the rest will be added gradually as the day continues.

Predictions for the Opening Matches of Group D, April 17

  • SKADE to beat Endpoint; -134
  • Copenhagen Flames to beat Gambit Youngsters; +110

It’s funny how Endpoint and SKADE were in the same group in the opening week of #HomeSweetHome too but didn’t face each other. Both teams reached the playoffs and failed in the first round. They will be hungry for more, and this match should be close.

And yet, I believe that SKADE has shown more consistency since and is in a better place right now after winning several games in the ESEA Relegation Division. The price of -134 for the Bulgarian team is enough for me.

I believe that Copenhagen Flames might be able to beat Gambit Youngsters in the other opening match. The development team showed a lot of promise in the opening week, beating, while Copenhagen Flames got destroyed during Flashpoint Season 1, which is the reason behind the odds.

And yet, the competition here is lower, so the Danish side should be able to bounce back and restore some pride.

Copenhagen Flames vs. Endpoint Prediction and Betting Pick

I expected a good showing by Copenhagen Flames in the opening match and the team didn’t disappoint me. farlig and refrezh had an excellent game against the Gambit Youngsters on Inferno and the squad looks ready to challenge for a place in the next stage.

Endpoint is the opponent waiting for the Danes in the Winners’ Match and I’m not sure what to make by the side’s performance in the first round. The win against SKADE looks impressive, but the Bulgarians were abysmal and made a ton of huge mistakes.

I don’t expect the same gifts from Copenhagen Flames and the price of +110 for the Danes to take this one is excellent.

  • Copenhagen Flames; +110

Gambit Youngsters vs. SKADE Prediction and Betting Pick

Gambit’s young guns had a strong week 1 of the tournament but they were brought back to reality by Copenhagen Flames in the opener today. They need to win more opening duels if they are going to progress, so that will be the key to success in the Elimination Match.

The good news is that the next opponent was all over the place earlier in the day. SKADE was the favorite against Endpoint and the match was played on the team’s most successful map Inferno. And yet, the Bulgarians end up losing 16-5 and looked terrible for most of the match.

If they don’t improve dramatically, it’s going to be a quick second round as well. The price for Gambit Youngsters here is just above the +100 mark and I’m more than willing to take it.

  • Gambit Youngsters to win; +105
