Gwangju FC vs. Incheon United Betting Preview With Pick – K League 1, June 17

It took a while for Gwangju to find its stride in K League 1, but back-to-back victories have seen the newly promoted club climb up the table in the last couple of weeks.
Now it faces an Incheon United team that looks low on inspiration and has definitely not kicked into gear itself yet. You can find my take below with my Gwangju FC vs. Incheon United prediction and betting pick.
Odds for Gwangju FC vs. Incheon United
BetOnline makes the home side the justifiable favorite here, but I have a feeling that the odds for an Incheon win are shorter than expected thanks to the narrow loss to Jeonbuk at the weekend. Even with a better performance than previously this season, Incheon has disappointed so far, and the home win is still the bet with the most value here.
Match Preview
There was a lot of promise for Gwangju as it came up as champions this year, but after three successive defeats at the start of the campaign, it looked as if Park Jin-seop’s side would really struggle.
All that has changed now, and the win over Busan at the weekend — including Felipe’s second goal of the season — made it seven points out of nine and lifted Gwangju to eighth in the table. There is a long way to go, but the visit of a poor Incheon team on Wednesday is a great opportunity to make it four games unbeaten.
Incheon surprised many people by only going down by the solitary goal to champions Jeonbuk in its game at the weekend. But that was a fourth straight loss for a side that had hoped that it might even be able to push into the top six this year. Incheon is now the only other club apart from Busan not to have won a single game.
Incheon has had to rely on former Gwangju striker Kim Ho-nam for its two goals this season so far and will be hoping that talismanic forward Stefan Mugosa is able to find the net and break a goal drought that has gone on for far too long. The Montenegrin is the player that Incheon looks to for goals, and if he continues to misfire, then it could face a very difficult few weeks.
Prediction and Pick
-
Gwangju FC to Win+115
I’m going to take advantage of BetOnline not making Gwangju the odds-on favorite here as I can’t see how this Incheon side will be able to come away from this game with any points at all. Most of its games have been dismal affairs so far, and even if it does find a little bit of spark, I don’t think it will be enough to beat a Gwangju team high on confidence.
