Gulfstream Park Picks for Saturday, May 16, 2020 – Free Horse Racing Betting Tips

In addition to the regular maiden, claiming, and allowance races, Gulfstream Park is presenting three very lucrative stakes races on Saturday, May 16, 2020—the Roar Stakes, the Powder Break Stakes, and the Musical Romance Stakes.

It’s been raining all week in Hallandale Beach, Florida, and it’s not going to stop just because it’s Saturday. The forecast calls for scattered thunderstorms, temps in the mid-80s, and winds at around 9 mph.

I like the second-favored horse in this race at 3/1—With Verve, ridden by Edger Prado. Eight career starts, five money finishes with four of those wins—plus a near-pole post position—says this horse can do it.

None of the longer odds competitors in this field seem destined to overcome any of the favorites.

I favor the 7/2 Noor Sahara, in the pole position with jockey Irad Ortiz Jr., over moneyline favorite Got Stormy, with Luis Saez aboard. Noor Sahara has a good record, with eight career starts, four money finishes, two of which were wins.

Valiance, ridden by Nik Juarez, is undervalued in this race at 6/1. She has three career starts, all of which she has won.

I’m going with the 7/5 moneyline favorite in this race, Lady’s Island, with veteran jockey Emisael Jaramillo aboard. This six-year-old mare has won more than half her career starts (29 starts, 22 money finishes, 15 wins).

None of the longer odds in this field have a snowball’s chance, but you might take a look at the 5/1 J P’s Delight, with Nik Juarez aboard. Six career starts, four money finishes, all of which were wins. Yeah, maybe.
