Gorodeya vs. Isloch Betting Preview – Belarusian Premier League, June 28
This game brings together two clubs that are both in dire need of points to climb the table, with the home side looking particularly desperate.
Gorodeya has spent the majority of the season just above the relegation zone, but Isloch has started to drop down the table in recent weeks as well. I break down the odds before jumping into my Gorodeya vs. Isloch prediction and betting pick.
Gorodeya vs. Isloch Odds
The MyBookie sportsbook has made Isloch the favorite to beat Gorodeya at its own stadium even though the Minsk club has endured a drop in form over the last two months. It is difficult to back Gorodeya with the way it has performed this year, but the draw bet might be worth a go.
Gorodeya has won just one of its last nine games in the Belarusian Premier League — a curiously comprehensive 3-0 victory over Slutsk — and has only been saved from entering the relegation zone thanks to the even worse form shown by Smolevichi and Belshina.
Gorodeya actually took the lead away to Dynamo Brest last weekend before conceding a goal straight from the restart. Two more goals in the second half meant that the points stayed with the champions, and Gorodeya saw another chance of pulling away from the bottom of the table disappear.
This week’s fixture would seem to hand Gorodeya another chance of points, though. Isloch had looked very good earlier on in the year, winning five of the first eight games. But results have taken a dive since then. There has been just one win the last six, although the Minsk club is unbeaten in three games now.
Although the run of three defeats changed the look of the season for Isloch, they were against some of the better sides in the league. Unfortunately, I don’t think that Vitaly Zhukovsky’s players have really come back from those games. Their confidence seems to have taken a knock, and it will be interesting to see whether it can return for this game with Gorodeya.
Gorodeya vs. Isloch Pick
I’m banking on Gorodeya bringing out somewhere near the kind of form it showed for that game with Slutsk a few weeks back and going for the draw here. Isloch is one of the teams falling rather than climbing at the moment, but I still think the Minsk side can come away from this with a point.
